This document constitutes “The Links of Spruce Creek Golf Membership Agreement.” Joining or continuing your membership signifies your acceptance of this agreement. Our Philosophy Our philosophy is simple: we might not always be able to control the speed of the greens; sometimes the grill might not have what you want; we certainly can’t predict the weather any more than the meteorologists can, but we can control our service to you! It’s not all about golf. It’s the total experience that you have when you come through the door. Our goal is to be the Friendliest Course in Florida, and all evidence points to our success! Prices, as stated above, include greens fee & golf cart. All prices are plus 7% tax. The prices indicated are a range of the anticipated price. Management reserves the right to change the stated rates or offer other packages at Management’s sole discretion. Members are very important to us! We also recognize the importance of daily fee players which constitute a significant portion of our income. With that said, we want to encourage the Residents of Spruce Creek South to play golf, and at the same time, see that a Membership truly does hold value through the year. As you may already know, Management runs a very aggressive marketing campaign year-round through the Club’s website where we offer several coupons and discounts to encourage daily greens fee play. We want to help put your mind at ease. DI Golf, LLC with The Links of Spruce Creek is happy to announce that all Golf Memberships are refundable and transferrable*. We understand there are situations in life that are unavoidable and we want to help. Should a life-changing situation ever arise in your life where you are unable to continue enjoying the benefits of your Membership, we will be happy to accommodate your request by either transferring the Membership to a designee of your choice or refunding the prorated amount of the unused portion of your Membership. There will be no refunds once the pro rated consumption is 57%. No exceptions. Cancellation of Membership is required in writing AND in advance of cancellation. Refunds are only issued in the event that Member is no longer able to play golf due to health or death. Cancellation is effective the first day of the month following the date that the notice was received in writing and proration will follow in line with this statement. If, for any reason, a Membership is refunded, the Member refunded to may not reinstate their Membership for a period of 12 months. A Membership may only be transferred one time per agreement period. Taxes paid on Membership are non refundable. Refunds are paid back to customer in equal, monthly installments through the remaining term of the contract. DI Golf, LLC Page 6 Pace of Play Practices To ensure that we all have the most enjoyable round of golf we can possibly have, all golfers should consider the following: » Have patience. » Play basic ready golf. » Play the correct tees for your ability. » Play through, or allow others to play through when it is appropriate. » Pair up and make a new friend on busy days. Playing with Patience: Everyone was a beginner at some point, even Tiger, so we should all have patience for people who might be playing slow because they are new to the game or still learning how to play. Or perhaps they are just not very good. Members and greens fees players all contribute, financially, to keep the course in great condition. We want everyone to have an enjoyable experience and come back! Playing “Ready Golf”: There is an official group of golfers that make up the Ready Golf Association, but when we refer to ready golf we are referring to a more simplified version. You should just be ready to hit when it is your turn. In some circumstances, playing ready golf means ignoring some of the traditional playing rules, like tee honors. If it is your playing partner’s turn to hit from the tee box, but he or she is still getting out of the cart, if you are ready and it is all clear to hit, you should hit your tee shot. Here are the basic rules or points to remember about playing ready golf: » Be at your ball with your club while the other person is hitting. » Line up your shot while the other person is hitting. » Hit your shot as soon as it is your turn. » First one to their ball on the green putts. » Putt it out instead of marking the ball. Playing the “Correct” Tees: There really is no such thing as the ladies tees. The front tees have been commonly called ladies tees, but in fact the shorter tees are simply for people who, for some reason or another, just don’t hit the ball as far as golfers that hit from the back tees. You should always tee off from a distance that matches your ability. As a general guideline for all players, we have signs posted on the first and tenth tees called “Tee It Forward”. This program was adopted by the USGA for the means of educating golfers on which tees they should be playing from, based on their abilities and for the enjoyment of the game. DI Golf, LLC Page 7 If you are a beginner, you should determine where to tee off using the following considerations that assume the longest club you hit is your 5 iron: » Par 3: you should be able to reach the green with one shot. Probably your favorite club that you hit the best. If you love your 5 iron and hit it 100 yards, tee off from the 100-yard marker. » Par 4: you should be able to reach the green with two shots. Again, if you hit your 5 iron around 100 yards, tee off from 150 to 175 yards. » Par 5: you should be able to reach the green with three shots. And once again, if you hit your 5 iron around 100 yards, tee off from 225 to 275 yards. It might require a few rounds to locate your tees, but you should err on the short side and make the holes easier as opposed to making the holes too long and more difficult. Playing Through Knowing how and when to let someone play through or know how and when to play through another group can be difficult for new and sometimes even experienced golfers. First of all, if you keep pace with the group in front of you, will never have to worry about playing through. Keeping up with the group in front of you means that as you are coming to up to a green to putt, the group in front of you will be hitting their tee shots on the next hole. As you reach the tee box, the group in front of you should just be clearing out to let you hit your tee shot. They could be just leaving the green on a par three or they may have just finished their second shots on a par 4 or par 5. As long as your next hole is occupied by another group while you are on the green putting, you are keeping pace. Let the group behind you play through if all of the following circumstances occur: » You fall behind the group in front of you. » The entire hole in front of you is empty. » The group behind you is waiting for you to finish. After you let a group play through, you should try once again to keep pace with the group in front of you, but if you should fall behind once again and have an empty hole between you and the group in front of you, let the group behind you play through once again if they are waiting for you to hit your shots. Sometimes a situation will develop where a group says that’s okay, we are not in a hurry; you don’t need to let us play through. When this happens, it slows down the entire course and make the round miserable for almost everyone. It is your duty as a golfer to play through the group in front of you whenever you are asked. (Even if the course is not busy, if someone asks you to play through, they are probably nervous about having someone behind them.) DI Golf, LLC Page 8 Pairing Up & Making New Friends We understand that some people like to play by themselves or just with their regular partner, and we like to accommodate our members and guests whenever possible. However, when the course is busy, we may ask you to pair up with another group to make room for other golfers. When the course is not busy we welcome you to play alone or with one other friend. No Sixsomes While you should pair up to make more room, five in a group is the limit. You should not play with six or more golfers in your group without prior approval. While there are some very fast golfers who can play with six golfers in a group and keep moving, there are several reasons why we don’t allow the practice: » It looks slow, and other customers think large groups are slow. » The pro shop gets complaints about large groups. » Players that don’t complain leave the course (and some never come back) if they see that such large groups are allowed to dominate the course. If you are playing with six golfers in your group, please break into groups of three (or break seven into groups of three and four, and so forth). Rules for Handicap Flag Use 1. Handicap flags or symbols are only for the use of people who have physical disabilities causing them to have difficulty moving about the course on either a permanent or temporary basis. 2. Handicap flags or symbols should be clearly displayed prominently somewhere on the golf cart. These are available from the Starter. 3. Handicap rules DO NOT apply to the second player in the cart, unless he/she is also handicap. 4. Should you need to approach closer to the green, please park no closer than 30 feet. 5. Handicap carts are to go to the Handicap player’s ball and then immediately back to a position that is not in violation of regular golf cart rules. 6. When weather dictates a rough & cart path only situation, the Handicap cart must also adhere to the driving restrictions. Rules of the United States Golf Association, except as modified by local rules, shall govern all play. Local rules are listed on the scorecard. Members are encouraged to play in foursomes. Single players, as well as groups of two, three and five will be permitted to play if, in the opinion of the Pro Shop Staff, such approval does not disrupt normal play. Starting play from a hole other than #1 or #10 is strictly prohibited and is not allowed without the permission of the Pro Shop. Each player must have his/her own set of golf clubs. The Pro Shop Staff and the Golf Course Starters & Rangers have complete authority to keep play moving at the proper pace for the enjoyment of all players. Animals are not allowed on the golf course, in golf carts or inside any facility building at any time, except for seeing-eye dogs. The Pro Shop Staff has the responsibility to judge the qualifications of any junior player to play golf or ride in a golf cart. All Members are to wear proper golf attire including soft spikes and collared or mock turtle shirts. The throwing of clubs and/or verbal outbursts of any kind will not be tolerated at our facilities. These incidents are subject to warning, suspension or revocation of your Membership at the sole discretion of Management. All Golf Carts are to remain on cart paths around tees and greens at all times. In the interest of all, players should play without delay “Ready Golf”. No player should begin play of a hole until the players in front are clearly out of range. Additionally, when the play of hole has been completed, players should immediately proceed to the next tee to record scores. If a group of players fails to keep up with pace, the group must invite the group behind them to play through. In certain situations, Course Starters & Rangers may ask groups to play a scramble or skip holes to speed up the pace of play. The acceptable pace of play will be roughly 4 hours & 15 minutes. Ball hawking is not permitted. Smooth out all holes and footprints made in the bunkers; fill all divots with green sand and repair all ball marks on greens. Please help us keep our greens in the best playing condition possible. All tournaments/events must be sanctioned by the Pro Shop. All prizes and awards will be redeemable through “chits” in the Pro Shop. If a Member’s privileges are suspended for any reason, the privileges will not be reactivated until three business days after the suspension has expired. The three day period is required to reestablish a Member in the accounting records and club database. Members may dispute any warning, suspension or revocation in writing within seven days of receiving such notice from the Club. The choice to reverse any decision is at the sole discretion of Management. Members will be notified of any such situation in writing within seven days. There will be no memorials or testimonials for deceased Members or other persons placed on the grounds of the golf course. Remains and ashes cannot be disposed of on the golf course. No gambling, betting or play of any kind for stakes is permitted at the facility. These rules may be changed, amended or repealed by Management at any time without prior notice. Notice, however, of any amendment or repeal of these rules enacted by Management will be promptly published. All complaints against the Club, any Member or Employee shall be made to the Club Manager in writing within seven days. No oral or unsigned complaints of any kind. These such communications may be placed in the suggestion box located in the hall as you enter the front door of the clubhouse. The undersigned hereby acknowledges and agrees that they have read and fully understand the rules and regulations as stated in this Membership and the privileges and benefits for their specific Membership type. The Links of Spruce Creek Golf Course is privately operated by DI Golf, LLC.
