organized a fun filled night which included dinner, great music, raffles, and a
candy bar. Students, Brookdale staff, as well as family and friends made it a

This and similar events have been an annual tradition, promoting a sense of
community, bringing together all for a good time, and building a network and
relationships. To further foster their goals of networking and community
outreach, the EOFSA collaborated with the Brookdale Film and TV club to
record the event.

FOUNDATION & ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP RECOGNITION CEREMONY
On March 13, Brookdale held its
Foundation and Alumni Scholarship
Recognition Ceremony.
The EOF staff extends its
congratulations to several members
of our program who received
scholarships. These are Yakelin
Melendez (featured to left of
President Murphy), as well Kyle
Koterba, Karen Melendez, and Kujtesa Klobucista. The scholarships will further
assist students with minimizing the financial pressures tied to attending college.
The following scholarships were awarded: Yakelin Melendez- Monmouth County
Guidance Director’s Association Scholarship; Kyle Koterba- Brookdale Foundation
and Alumni Scholarship; Karen Melendez- Elaine Vertucci Baron Memorial
Scholarship; and Kujtesa Klobucista- the Ocean First Foundation Scholarship.

Heighten your mathematical skills and explore the relevance of mathematics in your
chosen career; improve your research and presentation skills, and explore the
culture of Hoboken, while attending and living on the campus of Stevens Institute of
Technology. Room, board, materials, trips, are covered by the MIP program. Apply

MARYA TRAPP: A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH
Freshman forward Marya Trapp was named Region XIX
Player of the Year. She was also named to the First AllRegion Team. A few of Marya’s stats for the year include:
14.5 points per game, 45.9% field goal percentage, and
11.7 rebounds per game.
The Women’s Basketball Team are Region XIX Champions
and took 3rd Place at the NJCAA National Basketball
Tournament.
