New Zealand Cricket Coaching A cricket Team course
This course is designed for the coach, volunteer, parent or teacher involved with organising and
coaching primary, intermediate or secondary school students playing junior or youth cricket for
their school or club. The course is concerned mainly with ‘how’ and ‘what’ to coach a team
playing the conventional 11 a side game. The CaCT is a practical course which runs for 3 hours
during which time coaches will be shown skill demonstrations and drills that they may find
useful in the coaching of the game.
Where are these courses run?
Some clubs have the services of professional One Club cricket development officers who are
paid by Cricket Wellington to assist and grow coaching in the club. These staff are trained by
Cricket Wellington’s Coach Force personnel and will run a Cact course at your club.
The One Club cricket development officer will also assist where possible with support for the
coaching community at the club.
Other clubs do not have the services of these professionals and consequently coaches keen to
learn about the game can attend centralised coaching courses run by Cricket Wellington’s
Coach Force personnel at cricket venues in the region.
These course dates are 14th October and the 4th November 2015.
What is the cost and what do I need to bring?
There is a charge of $40.00 for the CaCT course and this includes a copy of the Coaching a
Cricket Team coaching manual which is used by coaches extensively at this level.
Personal gear
Learner coaches will need to bring a pen, note paper, a drink bottle and dress appropriately for
the course as there is some physical activity involved.
The programme
The coaching session will usually run from 6.00pm – 9.00pm on a week night. Any changes to
this will be emailed to the registered candidates.
How do I register?
Please fill out the Registration form below and return it to Cricket Wellington for my attention.
You will be sent an email prior to the course with the dates and venue of the course if you are
attending a centralised course at one of Cricket Wellington’s indoor venues.
