Rules:
• All team members tee off on each hole. The ‘best ball’ is chosen and marked with a tee or marker.
• The other team members pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole)
of the marked ‘best ball’ spot.
• This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The ball should be
marked on the putting green also.
• Putts need to be made within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in
the hole is counted for the team score.
• If the ball you choose to play is in a hazard (sand, water etc.), the rough, or out of bounds, you can not
drop the ball outside of the hazard or rough even if relief is within one club length away.
• Men tee off from the yellow tees and ladies from the red tees.
• Teams are to be of 4. In the event of a team of 3, the highest handicapper plays twice. Teams of 2 will not
be accepted in the competition.
Team Handicap:
• Each team (of 4) will receive one handicap which will be calculated by dividing the sum of the player’s
handicaps by 10.
• The maximum handicap per player in this calculation is 36.
• In the event of a team of 3 players: the highest handicap will be counted twice.
Scoring:
• Players must indicate the gross score on the scorecard. One score per hole per team.
• Each team will meet in the scoring area to check scores and sign the scorecard. The stableford score will
be calculated in the scoring area.
• In the event of a tie-break ‘the countback’ procedure will be followed:
• Best score on last 9, Best score on last 6, Best score on last 3.
• The competition judge is Mr. John Pickford, Sporting Director of Kikuoka Country Club.
