• Thru this we ensure our copyrights are
protected

• This player will run in MS Windows
environment
Installing the player

Before installing our application, ensure Adobe Flash Player installed. Go to
Control Panel  Add Remove Programs. You must see Adobe Flash Player
10 Activex in the programs list.
If it is not there, download it from this URL and install it.

Note: If your PC has Microsoft Dot Net Framework 2.0 installed, the
installation will go faster; else our installer will download it from Microsoft
site; for this, your PC must be connected to the internet. It may take several
minutes

Download the setup file from
http://www.softsmith.com/elearningdemos/SOTA.msi
Copy the file to your C: drive root folder
Double click on the SOTA.msi file
It will show the installation screens, step by step; Follow the steps carefully
Once the installation is complete, you will see the application shortcut on
your desktop with the name SOTA. You can see the same in Start  All
Programs  SOTA

Internet Connection
• The player needs internet connection to play videos
• Broadband connection is the minimal requirement
• If you connect to internet thru USB data card connectors
such as AT&T, Reliance, Tata Photon etc., you need to
first disconnect and close the connector application
• Then go to Control Panel  Network and Internet
Connections. There you will see the data card
connection; select that, right click and connect. (If this
step is not done, the player will stop the data card
application also and you will be disconnected from the
net)
Log-in to the player
• Once the application is successfully installed,
run the SOTA application
• It will ask for user id and password
• You need to provide your user id and password
that you use to access your
www.openmentor.net account
• If you are not a registered user to OpenMentor,
please register at
http://learn.openmentor.net/openmentor/view/us
er/createUser.jsp
• After successful login, it will open the main
window of the player
Play Recorded Sessions
• After successful login, the application will open the main window
• You need to choose the Category, and then a Course and then a
Topic
• Then Click on Play Button
• If there are other processes, running in the system, our player will
inform you to stop certain processes
• Please go thru the instructions on screen
• Once the processes are stopped, when you click on Play button, the
courses will start playing in a separate window
• Wait for 1 minute and you could see the content on screen
• If you select any elearning content that requires payment, the player
will show instructions accordingly. You can contact us when you
need premium elearning content
Support
• If you have any problems in installation or
viewing the contents, please send a mail to
[email protected]
• Our team upgrades the player every 15 days, to
give better user experience. When you start the
player, if a new version is found, it will ask you to
upgrade. During that time, the player will
automatically upgrade itself. If auto upgrade is
not performed, you may have difficulties in
viewing videos.
