Kho-Kho
Team formation rules:
1. Teams may contain both male and female players
2. The total number of players in each team should be 10 (8 on-field + 2 substitutes)
3. Each team must contain players belonging to three different batches
4. Each team may contain a maximum of 2 Pool-A players and 3 Pool-B players.
Game rules:
1. General Kho-Kho rules are applicable
2. Each match will consist of two innings of 8 minutes each (4 min chasing + 4 min running (being
chased)) for the first 2 rounds of the tournament and 10 minutes each (5min chasing + 5min running,
running => being chased) for the subsequent rounds.
3. Both substitute players must play at least one inning.
4. In case a team has both male and female players, the team gets a benefit of a maximum of a 1 minute
(30 seconds per female player) i.e. they need to run for only 9minutes in a 10 minutes game (7 minutes
for an 8 minute game), provided both female players get a chance to play in at least one complete
inning (running + chasing).
5. The incentive of 1 minute will be given in only one of the innings. The incentive can’t be split to
reduce running time in both innings.
6. If both the female players are on field during both the innings, then the opponent team will be chased
for an additional 1 minute in one of the innings, in addition to the 1 minute incentive (Decided by the
captain).
7. Teams where all members are women get a benefit of 4 minutes in case they are playing against a
mixed or an all-men’s’ team. They run for 8min and chase for 12min team in all the rounds.
