Working hours: 40-‐48 hours per week in line with the training schedule. Weekend working and an;-‐ social hours included. Start date : June 2016, an;cipated contract for 6-‐9 months. This allows for a 2 month handover with the exis;ng Head Chef. The health and well being of our elite athletes is impera;ve for the success of Worcester Warriors. This in part begins with the food that they consume here within the club. As the Head Chef, you play a integral role in ensuring the players consume a good quality diet in an environment that is hygienic and safe. The successful applicant will work along side the nutri;onists and kitchen porter to ensure food quality, menu variety and food safety are of the highest standards. Please note, this role should be considered as one’s primary job and must take priority over any external work when short no;ce schedule changes occur. Required experience and knowledge The successful candidate should have experience in a Head Chef role and be able to demonstrate and ar;culate knowledge of kitchen management. Main work ac@vi@es Ø Prepare and cook all meals and snacks for the players and staff members Ø Co-‐ordinate with the nutri;onist to determine menu items Ø Plan and price menu items, order supplies, regulate stock Ø Keep records and accounts Ø Menu planning and recipe development, in alignment with the weekly schedules Ø Check all purchased supplies for quality and account for each delivered item Ø Unloading deliveries of food to the kitchen, or relevant food storage areas Ø Organising the storeroom Ø Knowledge and understanding of specific dietary requirements, food intolerances and food allergies Ø Es;mate materials and labour requirements Ø Use oral or wri[en communica;on Ø Inspect facili;es and equipment for regulatory compliance and ensure hygiene standards are being reached Ø Meet with sales representa;ves in order to nego;ate prices and order supplies Ø Arrange for equipment repairs Ø Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards Worcester Warriors Rugby Club Players Chef Maternity Cover Job Descrip;on Skills, interests, quali@es and qualifica@ons To be a Head Chef you should have: Ø Level 3 food and hygiene cer;fied (essen;al) Ø Nutri;on based qualifica;ons (desirable, but not essen;al) Ø Previous experience working with a sport/sports team (desirable, but not essen;al) Ø Be prepared to undertake any training deemed necessary to perform the posi;on Ø A passion for food and cooking Ø Good physical health due to the nature of the posi;on Ø Self-‐mo;va;on and a desire to learn, improve skills and promote personal development Ø Good communica;on skills Ø The ability to work in a team Ø The ability to work on your own and use your ini;a;ve, but ask for help when necessary Ø The ability to remain calm under pressure Ø Flexibility: ad hoc changes to schedule ;mings require swie adaptability from the Chef Ø The knowledge to work safely dangerous equipment Ø An awareness of hygiene and safety regula;ons Ø Punctuality and reliability Ø For further details, please contact Mhairi Keil, Head Nutri;onist via email at [email protected] to arrange a convenient ;me for an informal discussion.
