Delta Falcons Women’s Teams
2017/18 Fall/Winter Season
This Fall/Winter Senior Field Hockey season, Falcons hopes to field 3
women’s teams in Divisions 2, 3 & 5 of the Vancouver Women’s
Field Hockey League. The VWFH League is the mainstay of senior
women’s hockey in the Lower Mainland. We would like to extend this
invitation to any players in U13 through U18, as well as any adult
women players who might be interested in joining us for the upcoming
season.
Eligibility:
 Must be 13 years of age by Dec 31, 2017
 Must hold a current FHBC membership. FHBC memberships
are renewable annually in AUGUST and will extend through the
next junior season.
 Please note that this is a Senior Women’s League, therefore all
eligible players must have the maturity and commitment to
participate respectfully with adult teammates and opponents.
 Reliable communication is essential.
Season:
 September through early March – break Dec thru mid Jan.
 Practices - Wednesday evening at Winskill Turf. Players are
expected to attend practice.
 Games may be scheduled for either Saturday or Sunday.
o Div 2 HOME field Tamanawis.
o Div 3/5 HOME field Winskill – SAT 6-7:30pm.
Rosters:
Trials for Division 2 will be held in late August/early Sept. Players of
ALL divisions are encouraged to attend, as these sessions will also
serve as pre-season training for the social/rec teams in Divisions 3 & 5
and help guide player placement in Divisions 3 & 5. Players
participating in Div 2 are expected to prioritize their commitment
to the team accordingly – practice attendance is expected. Players
unable to attend the trials, but wishing to be considered for the Div 2
team must contact Margaret Colbourne ([email protected]).
Assignment of players to our recreational teams in Divisions 3 & 5 is
based on a combination of age, ability and social factors. Players are
eligible to play up to a higher division a maximum of 6 times throughout
the season.
Costs:
 Club/league registration fees are $180 for the season.
 FHBC memberships is purchased separately through the
FHBC website, and MUST be renewed by August 30th.
**all FHBC fees must be up to date prior to the start of the Winter
Season or you are NOT eligible to play.
Umpires: For rated umpires willing to umpire throughout the season,
you will be reimbursed by the League at FHBC rates and will receive an
additional honorarium from the Falcons Field Hockey Club for games
umpired on our behalf.
