IRFU Conditioning Coach Course

The IRFU is now taking bookings for their Conditioning Coach Course
(CCC).
The course is intended to help coaches gain the confidence and
competence to condition and prepare players in a safe and enjoya- ble
manner for the game of rugby.
The CCC is a practical hands-on course where you will see and
practice the many strength and conditioning drills and exercises that
are appropriate for the physical preparation of rugby players at all
levels.
In 2017, the course will be hosted at the Institute of Technology,
Carlow.
Places on the course are limited so please book early.

CCC Experience
The course is intended to help you gain the confidence and competence to physically prepare the players in your charge in a safe
and enjoyable manner for the game of rugby. The course will not
make you ‘instantly qualified’ in the area of strength and conditioning - it is an introductory course for those wishing to increase
their knowledge base in the area of strength and conditioning and
develop their coaching skills.
The course also serves as a strong networking opportunity to help
you develop a relationships with like-minded coaches that you can
engage with throughout your career.
While there are theory based elements of the course, the course is
primarily a practical, hands-on course where you will see and
practice the many drills and exercises that are appropriate for
conditioning rugby players at all levels.

Accommodation
Accommodation is not provided by the I.R.F.U. However, should you need help in locating suitable accommodation call Niamh on (01) 6473835 who can advise you on available local options.
Required Kit
You are encouraged to dress in appropriate sports kit which will allow you to be active during the
daily practicals. Please note that the practical sessions will take place both indoors and outdoors
so please bring a change of kit with you on all days in the event of bad weather. Practical sessions will also take place on a variety of surfaces: artificial turf, grass and sports halls so participants should have appropriate footwear for each surface. Changing and showering facilities will
be available at the course venue.
