

I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players,
coaches, and officials at every game, practice, or other youth baseball event;
I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of a personal
desire to win;
I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment;
I will support coaches and officials working with my child to encourage a positive and
enjoyable baseball experience for everyone involved;
I will not argue with a manager or coach during a game or practice, but rather will
address my concerns to the coach or manager privately before or after the game or
practice;
If my child has a problem with any aspect of his or her baseball experience, I will first
address that problem to the team’s manager or to the board member of my child’s
respective division and then to the League President;
I will not argue with or “talk back” to the umpire;
I will demand a baseball environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco, and
alcohol, and will not use them at any youth sports event;
I will remember that the game is for kids—not for adults;
I will do my very best to make baseball fun for my child;
I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials
with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or playing ability;
I promise to help my child enjoy his or her baseball experience by doing whatever I can,
such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, or providing transportation to
games and practices;
I will encourage positive behavior from any and all spectators attending practices
and/or games associated with this player.
By participating in any Longview Youth Baseball League event,
all players and parents agree to abide by this Code of Ethics.
