Clients can receive dentures through Champaign County Health Care Consumers’ Dental Referral
Program (DRP). The DRP is a discounted dental program for low -income adults without any dental
insurance. The first appointment with the dentist is $15, and after the initial consultation, people
can receive discounts of 20, 40, or 60 percent off of dentist’s fees.
Discounts on dentures and other procedures that involve laboratory fees (ex. crowns or partials)
are discounted at a slightly different rate than other procedures. The dentist’s fees will be
discounted at 20, 40, or 60 percent off (as with other procedures), and members may be able to
receive some discounts on the laboratory fees. Individuals that are interested in getting dentures

To become a patient in SIUE you have to call them and give them your name and address. After two
weeks that you contacted them they will call you to set up an initial screening appointment to
determine whether you can be treated in the dental clinic or not. The cost of this screening
appointment is $90.
If an applicant is accepted as a patient, the first treatment appointment is scheduled at the
screening appointment. Total treatment will take about three trips to Alton, and each appointment
will take about three to four hours. All appointments take place in Alton and payment is due in two
parts: half at the second appointment and half at the time you get the dentures. The cost of an
upper or lower denture starts at $504 – if a student does it - or $636 – if a resident does it. There is
a 1-month waiting list to get the dentures done.
