However, the entry must include a block of woodland, as distinct from linear trees in urban projects. Date Established Note: Greenfield sites will not be eligible unless they are more than 10 years old or incorporate existing mature trees. For further information please contact the RDS on 01 240 7215, or email [email protected] The Community Woodland Award The Community Woodland Award is designed to encourage and reward projects involving community woodlands and forests which have been established and managed in a way which is sustainable and beneficial to the landscape, the local people, biodiversity and the economy. Entries are invited from woodland owners or managers from the public and voluntary sectors. Eligible projects are those that use trees, woods and forests to address one or more of the following: to improve the places where people live to bring benefits to people e.g. health and well-being, recreation, education and training to strengthen communities e.g. diversity and inclusion, volunteering and active participation
