The mission of the Codrington School is to empower all children and adults
within the community to become internationally minded learners who embrace
and respect academic excellence and a love of life long learning and who
exemplify the traits of the IB Learner Profile.
What is DP Evaluation
Mandatory evaluative process for all authorized DP schools that:
• ensures quality of programmes
• assists schools in self-evaluation, curriculum development procedures,
management of the programme and allocation of resources
• assists schools in developing and maintaining a dynamic programme
reflecting the aims and objectives of the DP
• occurs four years after authorization and then five years thereafter
• results in a report from a visiting team including recommendations and
action communicated by regional director.

IB Visit
• The school incorporates the findings of the Self Study within its action plan for the next 5 years.
Essentially we will identify major achievements during the period under review and identify practices
that need further development.
• A team of 2/3 IB experienced teachers/administrators will visit the school. After analysis of the selfstudy questionnaire, the supporting documents and the findings of the school visit, the IB will send a
final report which will reflect on the self study submitted by the school, including the process and the
conclusions that the school reached. The team may submit commendations and recommendations
which should be incorporated within the action plan for the next 5 years.
DP Evaluation
The Self Study
• Questionnaire in seven parts.
• Designed to allow the school to reflect on progress made.
• Designed so that the school can project future areas for
growth.
• Input from all stakeholders is necessary in order that a broad
spectrum of opinions is represented.
Self Study Descriptors
• School-generated
• Represent the pedagogical management team’s professional opinion on
levels of implementation of the DP
• Encourages a genuine, school-specific reflection
