2013/2014 CLAREMONT JUNIOR PENNANT TEAM ENTRIES
To All Tennis Players and Parents,
PLEASE READ THIS INFO PRIOR TO CHECKING TEAMS.
Thanks for all the entries that came on time (others came late and some players pulled out last
minute) – I have however managed to put together a great combination of junior pennant teams for
the upcoming season.
For the past few seasons I am one of only a few club coaches in Perth that has no Junior Pennant
Coordinator. Putting teams of 5 players into 1 team spread over 12 teams does not always work
perfect depending on the total numbers of players. I like to try and put players in teams of similar
level and even take playing with mates into consideration.
CTR
For players NEW to pennants the CTR rating system is a playing level that you will start on. Depending
on win loss ratio your CTR rating can change weekly however it is only a number. Players that have
played for 1 season or more depending on their results can have a “better” rating than other players.
The TEAM rating is the first 5 listed players added up together and this will give you a certain grade
by TENNIS WEST. A reminder to players is to not look too much into the CTR system as really you
can win or lose against any CTR rated players. A very clear and friendly reminder is that the CTR
system is operated by TENNIS WEST not Schoolkate Tennis.
COACHING
We have a NEW Coaching Program at the Claremont Club. I would like to see that all teams enrol as a
TEAM into DEVELOPMENT SQUADS. Sure you can enroll individually but we are encouraging ALL
team players to attend training. What we have changed is that we offer the training 6 days a week –
making a bigger chance to have all players available to train together at least once a week with the
coaches at any of these sessions. Check out our new coaching days and times on the following link
