fairway back to the greenside cart paths. Carts should exit the
fairways before the stakes, and should not travel closer to the
greens than the stakes.
6. Members and guests using golf carts should take care to observe
all directional signs and avoid roped off and restricted areas on
the courses. These are placed strategically for safety and/or
prevention of damage to the courses.
7. Carts are never permitted in native grass areas (ex. fescue).
Members should take special care to instruct their guests about golf
cart restrictions before they begin play so that neither party is
embarrassed by a rules infraction. Any rules infraction should be
reported to the Golf Professional Staff who will make the offending
party aware of the report. Repeated offenses could result in loss of
privileges.
Golf cart occupancy is limited to two (2) persons and two (2) golf
bags.
Golf cart rates are as follows:

FORECADDIES
The forecaddie program at Fiddler’s began in mid-summer 2012.
The program provides Members and guests with the opportunity to
enhance the golf experience. As this program continues to grow,
we ask for your support to make this a viable option for you and
your guests.
A forecaddie, to simplify, is a caddie who doesn’t carry your clubs.
Caddies are (in most cases) assigned to an individual player. A
forecaddie will accompany a group of players, working on behalf
of all Members of the group, but without carrying the bag for them.
The forecaddie’s job is to keep the group moving by keeping track
of all balls in play and letting each player in the group know where
his or her ball is located. For example, one player in the group hits
his ball into high rough. The forecaddie hurries ahead to search for
the ball, and point it out to the player so that play continues without delay. The forecaddie also assists with care of the course duties
such as the repair of divots, raking bunkers as well as obtaining
yardage, playing strategy and reading greens.
In the spring, forecaddies will be available primarily on weekend
days, but as the season progresses, we hope to be able to provide
availability any day. If you wish to reserve a forecaddie, please let
the Professional Staff know when you will be playing and we will
do our best to have one for you.
Forecaddies are mandatory for unaccompanied groups.
The minimum fee for a Forecaddie is $25 + tip per person.
This is to be paid in cash directly to the forecaddie as they are
independent contractors. If cash is needed, an ATM is available on
the lower level of the clubhouse.
Our Professional Staff will be recruiting and providing ongoing
training about forecaddying for young men and women in the
program. The training program is required for all forecaddies
which includes a written examination and on-course testing. The
program provides opportunities for young men and women to learn
valuable skills and assist them in their understanding of the game
of golf, as well as the chance to interact with successful Members
of the community enhancing their career development. If you
know someone interested in becoming a forecaddie, please contact
the Golf Shop and we will be happy to provide the details about
how to get started in the program.

Fiddler’s Elbow.
1. Men must wear slacks or Bermuda length shorts that are no
shorter than 3-inches above the top of the knee. Women must
wear slacks, capris, golf shorts, skirts, skorts, or dresses that are
no shorter than 3-inches above the knee.
2. For men, shirts with sleeves and collars are required. For mock
collared shirts, the collar must be a minimum of 1½”. Shirts
must be tucked into pants or shorts at all times.
3. For women, shirts with sleeves and collars are preferred;
however, women may wear a round neck collarless shirt with
sleeves or a shirt with a collar and no sleeves. Unfinished shirts
must be tucked in, but shirts with finished bottoms that are
designed to be left untucked may be worn out. However, no
women’s clothing is allowed where the midriff is visible.

12
GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE & PACE OF PLAY
1. The Golf Course Superintendent and/or the Professional Staff
have complete authority to prohibit play or restrict use of carts at
anytime they deem conditions unplayable.
2. It is the Member’s responsibility to register with the Starter
before commencing play.
3. All players are expected to follow the traditional rules for
etiquette at all times. Examples are listed below:
a. Replace divots with the divot whenever possible or, in the
case where the divot is not replaceable, use the sand mix
provided
b. Smooth bunkers with rakes provided
NOTE: The Superintendent and staff have painted blue lines
around all greenside bunkers where the rakes should be placed.
The head of the rake should be placed inside the bunker and the
handle sticking out of the bunker. This creates a consistent
placement and also promotes the proper entry to the bunker
on the side of easiest entry point.
c. Repair your ball mark and one other on the greens
d. Place all refuse and litter in receptacles (this would include
filter cigarette butts, beverage caps and other items of litter)
4. Guidelines to promote and foster PACE OF PLAY are listed
below.
a. Choose a set of tees appropriate for your skill level
b. Play ready golf – when safe to do so, players ready to play
should play, even if out of turn (take no more than 45
seconds to play your shot)
c. Anticipate your next shot – be prepared to play when it is
your turn
d. Keep up with the group in front of yours at all times
e. Be “Cart Smart” – practice efficient use of golf carts by
dropping a player off at their ball with clubs needed and
proceed to the other player’s ball so that each player may
play without delay. Park behind the green
f. Avoid extended searches for golf balls
g. If the ball may be out of play, utilize a Provisional Ball to
speed up play
13
h. Each group should have one player (preferably the
low-handicapper) responsible for monitoring the speed of
play of the group
i. Be accountable – recognize that slow play is not always
another player’s fault
Persons failing to observe Pace of Play etiquette should be
brought to the attention of the Professional Staff. To ensure all
Members and guests can enjoy their golf experience at FECC,
under normal conditions, the general rule is that all 18-hole
rounds of golf for a foursome should be completed at no more than
a 4-hour and 15-minute pace, or the course-specific posted pace
rating. Groups must be no further than 10 minutes behind the
group in front of them or they may be asked to skip a hole or holes
to return to position. Our on-course staff is given the authority to
provide warnings and then move groups into position as needed.
If a group does not conform to proper pace, the Member/Members
will be held to the listed infraction procedures.
INFRACTlON PROCEDURES
If a Member observes an infraction of Pace of Play, Golf Rules,
Regulations, Dress Code, Etiquette, or inappropriate golf cart
usage, that Member should contact the Professional Staff either in
person or by letter. That Member can provide the name(s) of the
individual(s), the golf cart number responsible for the infraction,
and his/her own name (which will be held strictly confidential). At
the time of the infraction, the Member should feel free to respectfully and discreetly remind others of the Club’s rules.
Where such infractions are observed and reported, the Professional
Staff will investigate and take the actions listed below:
1. First infraction: a warning letter will be sent
2. Second infraction: the Member(s) will have restricted privileges
3. Repeated infractions: May result in suspension of privileges
A Member is fully responsible for his/her guest’s adherence to the
above and the Member will be subject to the penalty actions for
infractions by his/her guest.
14
TOURNAMENT RULES
All tournaments shall be played under USGA Rules. Sign up
on the website or at the Golf Shop and always post your score.
In match play events, all matches must be completed by the date
set. All postponements must be made through the Professional
Staff. The player’s handicap should be adjusted to the current
posted handicap during the tournament.
Players unable or not intending to play throughout a
tournament may not enter the tournament.
Unless otherwise described by the Professional Staff, in the case of
a tie, prizes will be decided by match of cards starting with the last
nine, the last six, the last three holes and, finally, the 18th hole of
the course played. If still tied, the process will be repeated on the
front nine holes. If a tie still exists, a sudden death match of cards
will start on the 18th hole and work backwards.
In 54- and 36-hole events, the 18-hole score from the course with
the higher Course Rating will be used for starting the match of
cards process unless otherwise specified.
In all match play elimination events, it is the obligation of the
Member or team in the upper part of each bracket to make
arrangements for play with the opponent(s). All players must make
themselves available to play on the date and time specified. Any
other play must be by mutual consent. A player or team unavailable
on the specified date must default. The player or team with the
higher seed has the honor on the first tee.
Players who wish to participate in events must adhere to the
48 hour cancellation policy. Any player that violates this policy
is subject to probation in participation of events determined by
the Professional Staff.
15
PRIZE EVENTS
The Tournament Prize Fund (TPF) is comprised of the “Game of
the Day” on Saturdays throughout the season for both Men and
Ladies. On Thursdays, Ladies will have a special event format to
participate in. The format and the course of the “Game of the Day”
will vary and will be posted on the scoreboard outside the Golf
Shop prior to play on these days. There are also other designated
TPF events throughout the season in which both Men and Ladies
may participate. See the Tournaments section later in this book.
The annual TPF charge is $150. In order to win Golf Shop credit
a Member must be in the prize fund (all core Golf Members will
be billed for the prize fund in the spring. Any other adult
Member may opt in or out of the TPF. The TPF fee includes the
establishment of a USGA handicap for the season.)
Players not in the TPF may participate in events, but will pay $20
each time for Thursday Ladies’ Days and Saturday Game of the
Day events or the posted a la carte rate for tournaments.
All participants in TPF events must have an established USGA
Handicap in order to collect prizes. Non-core Members who
have not been billed for the prize fund may join the prize fund and
must notify the Golf Shop if you wish to do so. The distribution of
prize fund credit is limited to the Members who have registered.
Only those having played in a group with two or more registered
TPF participants are eligible to win any TPF prize. If more than
one round is played on a tournament day, only the first round
played is eligible for any TPF prize.
For all TPF weekly events and tournaments, if your name is on
the scoreboard, your score must be posted in the handicap
computer by 5:00pm of the day played. If your score is not
posted by 5:00pm, you will not receive any TPF prize payout
and a penalty score will be posted for you. The USGA defines a
penalty score as the lowest score of the last 20 scores posted.
Players unable or not intending to play throughout a
tournament may not enter the tournament.
16
HANDICAPS
The score posting season for New Jersey starts Friday, April 1 and
ends Monday, October 31. All revisions take place on the 1st and
15th of each month.
The USGA Handicap System takes into consideration the best 10
differentials from the last 20 scores. Maximum allowed handicap
index for men is 36.4, and for women is 40.4, unless otherwise
posted.
For handicap purposes, each person who completes 13 holes or
more is required to post his/her 18-hole score immediately upon
completion of his/her round. Individuals who play 7 to 9 holes
must post a 9-hole score for handicap purposes. No prizes will be
awarded to those who do not post their scores in accordance
with this rule.
Equitable Stroke Control is the maximum score on any hole
for handicapping purposes. Please see the chart below for the
maximum score to be posted for any hole based on the player’s
course handicap.

Handicapping Definitions
USGA Handicap Index: This is your official handicap. It is the
measurement of a player’s potential scoring ability on a course of
standard playing difficulty (113 slope). It is expressed as a number
taken to one decimal place and is used for conversion to a Course
Handicap.
Course Handicap: This is the handicap you play with at a
particular course. It is based on the conversion of your USGA
Handicap Index using the Course Handicap Table.
Home Course Handicap: This is the handicap you use at your
home course from your most commonly used set of tees. As a
matter of convenience, the MGA prints your home course handicap
on your handicap reports.
17
Equitable Stroke Control: All scores for handicap purposes,
including tournament scores, are subject to the application of
Equitable Stroke Control (ESC). This mandatory procedure reduces high, single hole scores for handicap purposes in order to
make handicaps more representative of a player’s potential ability.
Course Rating: This is the evaluation of a course’s playing difficulty
for a scratch golfer under normal course and weather conditions.
Slope Rating: It is not simply a measure of playing difficulty.
It is a comparative evaluation of how a course plays for the scratch
player vs. the bogey player. The Slope Rating for courses of standard
difficulty for men and women is 113.
Handicap Policing:
Throughout the course of the season, a member of the Professional
Staff will be responsible for handicap policing. All non-event
rounds of golf must be posted, and in the event that a Member is in
breach of posting scores, the following actions will be taken:
First Infraction: The score will be posted with warning
Second Infraction: The Member(s) will have restricted privileges
in participation of member events and handicapped play
Third Infraction: May result in the suspension of privileges
Please note that the Professional Staff will post all Club-monitored events, which includes Ladies’ Days and Saturday Games
of the Day. Any time a Member is given an official scorecard by
the Professional Staff, his/her score will be posted for handicapping purposes.
18
LOCAL GOLF RULES
The following Local Rules, in conjunction with the USGA Rules
of Golf, govern play. Unless otherwise provided, penalty for
breach of a Local Rule is two (2) strokes in Stroke Play and loss of
hole in Match Play
1. Suspension of Play: One (1) horn sound from our Lightning
Detection System
Resume Play: Three (3) horn sounds from our Lightning
Detection System
2. Relief for Embedded Ball: “Through the green,” a ball that is
embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground may be lifted,
without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to
where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped
must first strike a part of the course through the green.
“Through the green” is the whole area of the course except:
a. The tee and putting green of the hole being played; and
b. All hazards on the course
3. Artificially Surfaced Roads: Artificially surfaced roads and
paths are obstructions. White lined areas tying into roads or
paths have the same status as the roads or paths, and thus they
are obstructions and not ground under repair. Cart damage
adjacent to paths is considered part of the obstruction. Take
relief without penalty under Rule 24.
4. Dropping Zones: If a ball is in or it is known or virtually
certain that a ball that has not been found is in the water hazard
on #17 Forest Course the player may:
a. Proceed under Rule 26; or
b. As an additional option, drop a ball, under penalty of one
stroke in the Dropping Zone
5. Out of Bounds: White stakes, boundary and cyclone fences
define out of bounds.
6. Sod Seams: Through the green, seams of cut turf (not the turf
itself) are deemed to be ground under repair. However, interference by a seam with the player’s stance is deemed not to be, of
itself, interference under Rule 25-1. If a ball lies in or is touching the seam or the seam interferes with the area of the intended
swing, relief is available under Rule 25-1. All seams within the
cut turf area are considered the same seam.
19
7. Aeration Holes: Through the green, a ball that comes to rest in
or on an aeration hole may be lifted without penalty, cleaned
and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not
nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part
of the course through the green. On the putting green, a ball
that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be placed at the
nearest spot not nearer the hole that avoids the situation.
8. Preferred Lies/Winter Rules: If Preferred Lies or Winter
Rules are posted for the day’s play, a ball on your own fairway
may be lifted, cleaned, and placed within one (1) club length of
the ball’s original position. The ball may be placed and must
not be closer to the hole than the original position where it lay,
that is not on a putting green or in a hazard.
9. Practice in Stroke Play: Competitors may play the golf course
the same day of a Stroke Play event after the competition has
closed for the day, without disqualification.
10. Distance-Measuring Devices: A player may obtain distance
information by using a device that measures distance only. If,
during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring
device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions
that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the
penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such
additional function is actually used.
Forest course:
Hole #1 – The split rail fence shall be played as an immovable
obstruction. Neither the fence, nor the roadway are out of bounds.
Hole #2 – The split rail fence shall be played as an immovable
obstruction. Neither the fence, nor the roadway are out of bounds.
Hole #4 – The circulation fans and poles behind the green are
deemed temporary immovable obstructions which give the player
line of sight relief in addition to the options for obtaining relief
from immovable obstructions.
Hole #14 – The fence to the left and behind the green defines out
of bounds.
Hole #17 – Refer to Local Rule #4.
Hole #18 – The circulation fans and poles behind the green are
deemed temporary immovable obstructions which give the player
line of sight relief in addition to the options for obtaining relief
from immovable obstructions.
20
River course:
Hole #5 – The chain link fence defines out of bounds.
Hole #12 – Refer to Local Rule #4. The drop area to be used is the
front of the green tee box.
Hole #13 – The chain link fence defines out of bounds.
Hole #17 – The chain link fence defines out of bounds.
Meadow course:
Hole #3 – The chain link fence on the left defines out of bounds
Hole #4 – The golf practice facility and any recreational areas (tennis, basketball, etc.) are out of bounds.
Hole #5 – The left side of the cart building serves as white stakes
defining out of bounds. A ball that comes to rest on any pavement
other than the cart path past or to the right of the cart building is
out of bounds.
Hole #7 – The electric fence beyond the green defines out of
bounds.
Hole #18 – A ball coming to rest in the grassy area in front of the
Grill Room requires mandatory relief to the nearest point, not
nearer the hole.
Please check the Local Golf Rules posted for the day as they
are subject to change.

PRACTICE FACILITY
The use of the practice areas (putting green, driving range and
short game area) is limited to Golf Members, their guests and
Club-hosted events. (NOTE: House Members do not have any
golf privileges other than as a guest of a Golf Member or to host
one event per year)
The practice area will be open daily as the weather permits and
may be closed due to conditions prohibiting the pickup of balls.
1. Persons using the practice facilities must use designated areas
only. No persons are allowed beyond the tee lines to retrieve
balls.
2. When practicing on the grass surfaces, Members should use caution
as to not create unnecessary damage to the turf and should repair
their area used with divot mix provided when practical.
3. In the short game practice area, Members and guests should
leave the area as they found it and clean up balls hit to the
green so the next person using the area is left with a clean area
to practice.
Hours of Operation
The general rule will be that the practice facilities will be open ½
hour prior to the first tee time. Due to the mowing and maintenance schedule, the practice facility will close 1-1½ hours early on
Tuesdays and will open late on Wednesdays. Please inquire in the
Golf Shop for specific times as they are based on the daylight
schedule.
During peak times when the practice facility is busy, all Members
and their guests shall use the tee for pre-round warm-up purposes
only. Please be aware of players waiting to warm up and limit your
practice time during busy periods. When necessary, Members
shall give priority on the tee to the teaching professionals. Be
aware and use common courtesy during these times. Extended
practicing should only be done during off-peak hours.
RANGE BALLS ARE NOT TO BE REMOVED FROM THE
PRACTICE AREAS AT ANY TIME.

LADIES’ GOLF
Ladies’ Days are offered most Thursdays and Saturdays throughout
the season. These days are designed to make it enjoyable for all
levels of course-ready players to participate and use the Club. On
Thursdays, there are fun formats for the competitive or more
advanced lady golfers as well as the novices. Please know that it is
okay to use these times to just get out with the girls and be social,
not having to participate in the scheduled game. On Saturdays,
the “Game of the Day” will be the same for both Men and Ladies.
Below are some examples and descriptions of some of the formats
we will use throughout the season. Ladies will participate from the
Green tees. Starting times will be sent via email one day prior to
the event.
For Thursday games, see below:
Best Ball (Team Game)
Each player on the team plays his or her own golf ball throughout
the round, and on each hole the low score - or “best ball” - of the
group serves as the team score.
Bingo Bango Bongo (Individual Game)
Each player plays her own golf ball throughout the round. The
player who has the highest number of total points at the end of the
round wins. Points are awarded on each hole as follows: Bingo (1
point) – the player to get their ball on the green first in their group,
Bango (1 point) – the player whose ball is closest to the hole once
all players balls are on the green and Bongo (1 point) – the player
who holes out first on each hole.
Criers and Whiners (Individual Game)
A game of do-overs, or mulligans, that can be used from any point
on the golf course. Handicaps are converted into free shots that are
used during the round. For each handicap stroke a player may
replay a shot.
Kickers (Individual Game)
The staff will select a target score within an announced range for
the round and keep it secret. Prior to the round you will guess and
record how many strokes you would need to subtract from your
actual score shot to match the secret number selected. All players
who guess correctly the number to subtract from their actual score
and match the selected number win.
25
Four Ball Color (Team Game)
Each player will be assigned a color on the team’s scorecard. At
the bottom of the flagstick on each hole there will be a colored
hairband determining the player’s score which will count for the
team on that hole. Players will not know that their score will count
until they get to the green and see the colored hairband on the
bottom of the flagstick.
Pink Ball (Team Game)
Each team will be given 2 pink golf balls (one as a back-up). Prior
to play a rotation will be established where 1 player plays the Pink
golf ball for the hole. That player’s score will count in addition to
the lowest score (Net) of the other 3 players on the team. Teams
finishing the round with the Pink golf ball will be given a bonus
for not losing the ball(s).
Low Putts (Individual Game)
Keep track of your putting score and if you have the lowest
number of putts you win.
Match Play vs. Bogey (Individual or Team Game)
Take your score on each hole versus the Par of that hole +1 stroke.
If you beat the Bogey Score, you get 1 point. If you tie the Bogey
Score you get ½ a point. If your score is higher than the Bogey
Score, you get 0 points. Add the points to try to achieve the highest
number of points possible.
Points (Team Game)
Each player plays each hole with their Net score determining how
many points they’ve earned for the team. All players on the team’s
points are added together to determine the team’s score on each
hole. Points are earned for Eagles, Birdies and Pars and Bogeys.
Points are awarded on the Net score as follows:
Eagle – 4
Birdie – 3
Par – 2
Bogey – 1
Double Bogey or higher – 0
Scramble (Team Game)
Each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The
best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third
shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.
26
Shamble (Team Game)
All members of the team tee off and the best shot of the four tee
shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best
shot. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all
members of the team playing their own ball into the hole.
Stableford (Individual or Team Game)
Just like regular play except you use points to represent Eagles,
Birdies, Pars and Bogeys. Points are awarded as follows:
Eagle – 4
Birdie – 3
Par – 2
Bogey – 1
Double Bogey or higher – 0
Three Little Pigs (Individual or Team Game)
Get rid of your 3 worst scores from the round. At the end of the
round, find your 3 worst scores and cross them out adding the rest
of the scores to get your score for the day.
Each Saturday that there is a Game of the Day, any group with 2
or more TPF-registered members may participate in the game.
One player in the group shall keep the scorecard for the game. On
the scorecard, each player’s course handicap (for the course being
played) and their allocation (depending on the % specific to the
game) should be noted. This will allow the team/players to keep
the score throughout the round pertaining to the game. An example
would be if the game was Net 1 BB (Best Ball) of 2, each player’s
handicap allocation based on 90% of their course handicap would
be used to dot the card with strokes given based on the handicap
ranking given on the scorecard. So if player “A” has a course
handicap of 10, he/she would get 9 strokes for the round: 1 stroke
on the 9 toughest holes. If player “B” has a course handicap of 20,
he/she would get 18 strokes for the round: 1 stroke on each hole.
At the completion of the round, the scorekeeper shall post the
player’s names and the hole-by-hole team scores on the scoreboard
in the Golf Shop.
For Saturday games, see below:
Net 1 BB (Best Ball) of 2 – (use 90% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 2 players. Each partner plays his or her own golf
ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net score of the
partners serves as the team score.
27

Teams consist of 4 players. Each player on the team plays his or
her own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net
score of the group serves as the team score.
Net 1 BB of 2 (Stableford) – (use 90% of course handicap)

Par – 2
Bogey – 1
Double Bogey or higher – 0

her own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the two
lowest Net scores of the group are combined, serving as the team
score.
Net 1 BB of 2 (Versus Par) – (use 90% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 2 players. Each partner plays his or her own golf
ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net score of the
partners serves as the team score. This score is compared to par,
with the team receiving a (-) for a Net score over par, a (+) for a
Net score below par, and a (0) for a Net score of par. Each plus and
minus is reconciled after the round to reach a team score (i.e. “+2”
or “-4”).

2016 TOURNAMENTS
• TPF represents the Tournament Prize Fund.
The Tournament Prize Fund (TPF) is comprised of the “Game of
the Day” on Saturdays throughout the season for both Men and
Ladies. On Thursdays, Ladies will have a special event format to
participate in. The format and the course of the “Game of the Day”
will vary and will be posted in the Golf Shop prior to play on these
days. There are also designated TPF events throughout the season
in which both Men and Ladies may participate.
The annual TPF charge is $150. In order to win Golf Shop credit,
a Member must be in the prize fund (all core Golf Members
will be billed for the prize fund in the spring. If a Member is not
in the TPF and does wish to play in an event, they must either join
TPF or pay the a la carte fee for that event. The TPF fee includes
the establishment of a USGA handicap for the season). All
participants in TPF events must have an established USGA
Handicap in order to collect prizes. Non-core Members who have
not been billed for the prize fund may join the prize fund and must
notify the Golf Shop. The distribution of prize fund credit is limited
to the Members who have registered. Only those having played in
a group with two or more registered TPF participants are eligible
to win any TPF prize. If more than one round is played on a tournament day, only the first round played is eligible for any TPF prize.
For all TPF weekly events and tournaments, your score must
be posted in the handicap computer by 5:00pm of the day
played. If your score is not posted by 5:00pm, you will not
receive any TPF prize payout and a penalty score will be
posted for you. The USGA defines a penalty score as the lowest
score of the last 20 scores posted.
Players unable or not intending to play throughout a tournament
may not enter the tournament.
• In 2-person TPF weekly events, teams must be decided prior to
starting play.
• The Member Tees will be used as the primary tee for the basis of
handicaps for the “Game of the Day” events on Saturdays and
other events. An option to play from the White Tees is listed
below.
• Cart fees and, where applicable, Push Cart fees are not included
in event pricing. These fees will be billed to the Member’s account.
The Fiddler’s Invitational – Men’s Three-Day Member-Guest and
Fiddler’s Pride One-Day Member-Guest Tournaments are
examples of exceptions.
36
White Tee Policy:
Male Members who wish to play from the White Tees for any
scheduled Game of the Day or tournament when the Member Tees

GAME OF THE DAY INSTRUCTIONS AND FORMATS
Each Saturday that there is a Game of the Day, any group with 2 or
more TPF-registered members may participate in the game.
One player in the group shall keep the scorecard for the game. On
the scorecard, each player’s course handicap (for the course being
played) and their allocation (depending on the percentage specific
to the game) should be noted. This will allow the team/players to
keep the score throughout the round pertaining to the game. An
example would be if the game was Net 1 BB (Best Ball) of 2, each
player’s handicap allocation based on 0% of their course handicap
would be used to dot the card with strokes given based on the
handicap ranking given on the scorecard. So if player “A” has a
course handicap of 10, he/she would get 9 strokes for the round: 1
stroke on the 9 toughest holes. If player “B” has a course handicap
of 20, he/she would get 18 strokes for the round: 1 stroke on each
hole. At the completion of the round, the scorekeeper shall post
the player’s names and the hole-by-hole team scores on the scoreboard in the Golf Shop.
Net 1 BB (Best Ball) of 2 – (use 90% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 2 players. Each partner plays his or her own golf
ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net score of the
partners serves as the team score.
Net 1 BB of 4 – (use 80% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 4 players. Each player on the team plays his or
her own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net
score of the group serves as the team score.
Net 1 BB of 2 (Stableford) – (use 90% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 2 players. Each partner plays his or her own golf
ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net score is used
for allotting points. Points are awarded on the Net score as follows:
Eagle – 4
Birdie – 3
Par – 2
Bogey – 1
Double Bogey or higher – 0
38
Net 1 BB of 4 (Stableford) – (use 80% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 4 players. Each player on the team plays his or
her own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net
score is used for allotting points. Points are awarded on the Net
score as follows:
Eagle – 4
Birdie – 3
Par – 2
Bogey – 1
Double Bogey or higher – 0
Net 2 BB of 4 – (use 90% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 4 players. Each player on the team plays his or
her own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the two lowest Net scores of the group are combined, serving as the team
or “-4”).
Net 1 BB of 4 (Versus Par) – (use 80% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 4 players. Each player on the team plays his or
her own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net
score of the group serves as the team score. This score is compared
to par, with the team receiving a (-) for a Net score over par, a (+)
for a Net score below par, and a (0) for a Net score of par. Each
plus and minus is reconciled after the round to reach a team score
(i.e. “+2” or “-4”).
Net 1 BB of 2 (Pro as your Partner) – (use 90% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 2 players. Each partner plays his or her own golf
ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low Net score of the
partners serves as the team score. At the completion of the round,
teams will check the hole by hole scores that a member of the Professional Staff has posted and use any individual hole scores that
help the team.
39

Double Bogey or higher – 0
4 Person Net Points – (use 80% of course handicap)

Orange Ball – (use 90% of course handicap)
Teams consist of 4 players. Each team will be given 2 orange golf
balls (one as a back-up). Prior to play a rotation will be established
where 1 player plays the orange golf ball for the hole. That player’s
score will count in addition to the lowest score (Net) of the other 3
players on the team. Teams finishing the round with the orange
golf ball will be given a bonus for not losing the ball(s).
Individual Versus Par – (use 100% of course handicap)
This is an individual game. Player plays his or her own golf ball
throughout the round. On each hole, the player’s score is compared
to par, receiving a (-) for a Net score over par, a (+) for a Net score
below par, and a (0) for a Net score of par. Each plus and minus is
reconciled after the round to reach a total score (i.e. “+2” or “-4”).
