Bonds/Town Funding • Most economical means of borrowing money for local governments • A vote of the public is required • Allows the Town to complete high impact Status Report Grants Church Street Sidewalk – Cedar Fork Elementary School to Treybrooke Drive Funding: FY15 Wake County CDBG Infrastructure Funds • Project Under Construction • Construction expected to finish by June 2017 • Project includes installation of sidewalk, curb-and-gutter and a pedestrian crosswalk at Treybrooke Drive across Church Street Church Street Sidewalk – Town Center Walking Loop Funding: FY14 CAMPO LAPP • Construction Bid Awarded to Lanier Construction • Construction Cost: $343,125 • Total Project Cost: $411,750 • Town Funds: $174,475 • Schedule – Construction Start by May 30 – 120 Days (4 Months) for Construction Status Report Town Projects McCrimmon Parkway Extension Funding: Town Roadway Bond, NCDOT Rail Safety Funds, NCDOT STIP Funds • Phase I Under Construction – NC 54 to Airport Blvd. – NC 54 Lane Closures start mid-April • Phase II Plans 95% Complete – ROW Acquisition Underway – Construction Schedule: • • Est. Completion 2019 Morrisville-Carpenter Road Widening Funding: Town Funds & CAMPO LAPP Funds • • • • Engineering & Design Underway; Beginning ROW Acquisition Local Agreement – Summer 2017 Construction Funds Available Oct. 2017 Construction Begins Early 2018; Construction Complete 2019 Status Report State Projects Morrisville Parkway Grade Separation Funding: 2009 Federal Stimulus (ARRA) Funds • Project is complete – no further updates • Morrisville Parkway was resurfaced between Crabtree Crossing Parkway and NC 54 as part of project Status Report Wake County Transit Plan Wake County Transit Plan 2018 Work Plan Scheduled for Adoption June 2017 – Some expansion of transit – longer hours, shorter headways Master Participation Agreement in approval process – expected to be executed by many parties by July 1, 2017 Many Studies now getting underway – Public Engagement, Staffing Plan, Community Funding Areas, Bus Service Implementation, Major Investments (Rail and BRT) WWW.WAKETRANSIT.COM Special Topic SPOT 5.0 and CAMPO MTP NCDOT SPOT 5.0 • SPOT 5.0 (Statewide Prioritization) Process getting underway • CAMPO has convened TCC subcommittee to review process, procedures and policy for selecting projects for submittal to SPOT 5.0 database • Town staff reviewing potential Morrisville projects for inclusion in CAMPO submittal • CAMPO has issued call for Bicycle and Pedestrian Projects from member jurisdictions for SPOT 5.0 • Staff is reviewing prior submitted projects and new projects for submission • Bike/Ped projects will require 20% Local Funding Match • Staff will update Town Council once projects are submitted CAMPO MTP (Metropolitan Transportation Plan) • MTP consists of 2 Parts: – 25-Year Fiscally-Constrained Transportation Plan – 40-Year Comprehensive Transportation Plan (not fiscally-constrained) • MTP uses socio-economic and land use data to determine regional transportation needs • Fiscally-constrained plan is based on expected revenues over 25 years; Comprehensive plan is based on needed improvements over 40 years • Draft MTP expected to be released in August/September QUESTIONS & COMMENTS
