This year Boston N.S. is trying to receive the Blue Star
Flag. This involves learning about the EU and EU
countries. The junior room learned all about the EU
country Denmark. Lego was made in Denmark. So we

our own Lego.
We had lots of
fun working
together to build
different things
such as houses,

shapes, patterns and angles in our Lego designs.

Catholic school week started on the 1st and ended on
the 5th of February. This was a special week for prayer

kind and showing love, the importance of forgiveness,
being fair and just, and most importantly we learned
to live as Jesus asked us to.
The RSA By Saoirse Dillon
A lady from the RSA came to our school. She told us
that you need to be taller than 150cm or else you
need to have a booster seat in the car. She asked us if
we knew the safe cross code. We said yes. She told us
that it is important to wear our seatbelts. She said you
could hurt someone else, not just yourself if you
didn’t wear your seatbelt. She told us to always wear
helmets and visi vests when we are walking or cycling.
At the end she gave us key rings and visi bags. It was
so much fun. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot
about road safety.
Lottie Dolls By Saoirse Dillon
We entered a competition called Lottie Dolls. We had
to design a doll and draw it on a piece of paper. The
girl dolls we drew were named Farmer Lottie and the
boy dolls everyone drew were named Dancing Finn. If
you are lucky enough to win they will use your design
to create the Lottie Doll and send you one as well.
This competition was about teaching the students
that boys and girls can do lots of things like cooking,
farming and dancing no matter what gender they are.

Our trip to Ennis by James Kearns
On Tuesday the 16th of February, we went to Ennis to
learn about the ocean. We passed around shells and
bones of marine ocean animals. There were two
lobster claws, one was smaller than the other. It was
called a chopper. The other one was called a crusher.
There was also some shark skin! If you ran your finger
along one side of the skin it would feel smooth. If you
ran your finger the other way, it would feel rough. We
also got to see a shark jaw. It was broken into two
pieces. There
were also crab
shells as well.
We learned
that oysters
don’t want to
make pretty
things like
pearls. They
just want to protect themselves. We cut open and got
to dissect squids which was really cool. We found out
how to tell a male squid from a female squid and we
also learned the different parts of the squid’s body.
We learned that squid’s have no blood in their bodies.
We learned a lot and had great fun on our day out.
