DERBYSHIRE HOCKEY
PLAYER PATHWAY PROGRAMME
2016 - 2017
There will be 3 Derbyshire Junior Development Centres (JDC’s) within the county to which
all hockey players are invited.
1. South Derbyshire JDC to be held at the Ellis Astro, Shobnall Leisure Complex –Burton.
2. Mid Derbyshire JDC to be held at Belper Meadows, Belper.
3. North Derbyshire JDC North to be held at Buxton Community School - Buxton.
All dates and times are listed further on.
The centres will be led by Level 3 and Level 2 coaches and are the first rung on the ladder of
the player pathway. The emphasis for the JDCs is skill development and players will have the
opportunity to practise their skills in competition with neighbouring JDCs.
Players will be assessed and possibly selected for progression through to Derbyshire Junior
Academy Centres (JACs). Training will run from November 2016 with fixtures scheduled
from March 2017.
The JACs replace the County teams and will compete with JACs from other Counties. Those
players not progressing to JACs will be encouraged to continue with school and club hockey
and will be provided with information on local activity until the JDCs begin again the
following season.
Players wishing to attend a JDC should choose the one closest and most convenient for
them and complete the online registration form. If the dates for a local JDC aren’t
convenient players are free to travel to another centre for their coaching either within
Derbyshire or in a neighbouring County/Region. Please note that due to numbers all U16 &
U17 Boys and Girls will need to attend either the JDC at Belper or Buxton.
IMPORTANT:
Registration for all JDCs must be completed online at: www.ehbplayersystem.co.uk
NB: The centre names are to be found from the drop down list under ‘D’ for Derbyshire – you will
then need to indicate whether it is the South, Mid or North centre you will be registering to.
Please ensure that you tick the appropriate boxes i.e. Medical, Transportation, Photography etc and
then click the SAVE button.
Players already registered/already in the system do not need to re-register but MUST check their
existing registration details and tick the consent boxes when prompted to do so by a system email.
Please remember, the rules state that we cannot allow players to train without the signed consent
form. It is essential therefore that you bring the completed registration form along with your
remittance to your first training session at each centre.
