“LET US RISE UP AND BUILD” VOLUME 10 We want to welcome our guests and church family to our services. We are glad you are here. As we worship together, our prayer is that God will be glorified, hearts will be challenged and changed, and lives will be refreshed and renewed. For our visiting families, we want you to know that a nursery is available. We also have a children’s church program for children (through the third grade). Each of our kids had different reactions to the rides. Some loved the rides that went fast while others loved the slower rides. There is one ride there that you sit in and it takes you up and drops you. One of our children did not like this ride but another loved it. At the end of the day we decided to ride this ride one more time for the child that loved it. The problem was that the other child did not want to ride it again but he did desire to ride something else. We made an agreement, ride the ride that drops you and we would ride the one he wanted. We get on the ride and it starts up and takes us to where it is about to drop. My child turns to the stranger that is sitting beside him and says, “Right up here it is going to drop. It’s not fun!” We got done with the ride and my child said that it was not as bad that time. I asked him about his comment and he said, “Yeah, I found the handle on the ride this time. That made it better.” He did not like the ride and even dreaded it because he did not have something to hold on to. Having something to hold on to made the difference. Life can be scary and hard especially if you do not have something to hold on to. But when you find that you can cling to God, hold on to Him and trust Him, it will make all the difference in the world. He can give you comfort and peace no matter what you go through. Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” When we trust Him, He will give us what we need. $ BLESSINGS FROM SEPTEMBER $ Joyce Fremont Phyllis Myer 1006 Broad Street Altavista, VA 24517 PHONE: 434-547-7210 Heritage Woods 801 Etna Rd., Rm. 215 Ottawa, IL 61350 Danny Adrian Mark & Linda Willson Ambassador Baptist College Rua Aminadabe Arruda Box 3273 Lattimore, NC 28089 Riley Adrian Ambassador Baptist College Box 3378 Lattimore, NC 28089 OCTOBER MINISTRY WORKERS WED. Our teachers are going to Michigan for the Tri-State AACS Teachers’ Convention on October 6 and 7. Please be in prayer for safety as they travel as well as a good time at the convention and learning new things to help in the classroom. The RACE for EDUCATION is on Thursday, October 13th at 1:00 PM. Plan to come and cheer on our students as they participate in the RACE (or even walk, jog, or run with them). Our kindergarten classes and elementary classes are going on a field trip to an orchard on October 21. They always enjoy this trip (as well as the teachers and chaperones). The HARVEST of FUN is coming up on October 28th. This is always a wonderful family event. Plan on attending. There is going to be many things to do for ALL ages. It begins at 4:00 PM and ends at 6:00 PM. The school and church could use a couple of laptops. If you can help in donating them or even giving some money toward the purchase of these, please let Pastor Metcalf of Lisa know.
