PEER RELATIONSHIPS
WEEK 1 LOVE EVERYBODY
Evil will be overcome when I’m kind to everyone.
Matthew 5:44 ERV
“But I tell you, love your enemies. Pray for those who treat
you badly.”
1. The Bible verse says to love your enemies. Who do you
think the “enemies” are? Anyone who hurts you, bullies
you, does something wrong to you, etc.
Small Group Welcome
Choose a few review questions.
1. Introduce yourself, and welcome new kids by name.
2. Kids share what happened during the past week.
3. Check up on past week’s prayer requests and events.
4. Discuss the Welcome Question: What would you do with
lots of silly string?
Small Group Activity
You’ll Need
 Kindness Counts activity sheet (1 per child)
 Markers (1 set per group)
1. When you’re not getting along with someone or you’re
fighting with them, what can you do to turn things
around? Stop trying to get back at them and forgive them
every time.
2. What if you stop trying to get back at someone, you
forgive them, and they still aren’t kind to you? What
should you do? Do what the Bible verse says: continue to
love them, forgive them, and pray for them.
3. What is revenge? Doing something mean to the person that
hurt you so you can get even.
4. Why is it wrong to get revenge? The Bible tells us to love
and pray for our enemies. Getting revenge doesn’t do that.
To Do
1. Give a Kindness Counts activity sheet to each child.
Ask: This boy looks angry! What do we need to do for him?
Choose an action step question.
2. Kids respond. Show him forgiveness, kind words, loving
actions, etc.
1. Think about the Bible story (Romans 12:9-21). What can
you do for people who aren’t kind to you? Pray for them,
feed them, give them a drink, be kind to them, etc.
3. Kids write kind words or draw pictures of kind actions on
flaps by the face.
2. Think of someone who made you angry. What will you
do for them this week? Answers will vary.
4. Kids fold on the dotted lines to cover the angry face with
kind words and pictures to reveal a smiling face.
Say: When you show God’s love through forgiveness, kind
words, and kind actions, you might help an angry or sad person
to change their attitude or feel better.
5. If time allows, kids color the sheet.
Choose questions to ask while kids work.
1. Why do you think it was wrong for Mike and Alissa to
play pranks on each other? They were trying to get even
instead of forgiving each other.
2. What would you do if you got caught in the middle of the
Great Prank War? Answers will vary.

Konnect crew write together? A fairy tale
Pray Together.

A good choice depends on choosing good friends.
Proverbs 12:26 NIV
The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of
the wicked leads them astray.

friends who love God. If your best friend doesn’t love God,
their ungodly choices might rub off on you.

like and which fruit you don’t like.
Small Group Activity
You’ll Need
 Good Fruit Bad Fruit activity supplement (1 per group)
 Fruit erasers (1 per child)
 Fruit basket (1 per group)
1. How are people like fruit trees? The fruit on a tress shows
what kind of tree it is, like a person’s choices and actions
show what kind of person they are.
2. What happens when you choose to spend most of your
time with a friend who makes wrong choices? People will
think you make bad choices because your friend does, or you
will make bad choices, too!
3. What is good about a best friend who loves God? They’ll
make good choices that will rub off on you.
4. Think about the good fruit and bad fruit from the game
we played. Which good fruits do you look for in a friend?
Answers will vary.
To Do
Say: Love everybody. But be picky about who you choose to
spend most of your time with. They’ll rub off on you!
1. Put basket in the middle, and give each kid an eraser.
Say: I’ll read about a pretend friend. Throw your fruit in the
basket if the friend shows good, godly fruit. Don’t toss your
fruit in the basket if they show bad fruit, though!
Choose an action step question.
1. What can you do if someone shows a lot of bad fruit, but
wants to be your best friend? Pray for them, be kind, spend
time with them when my good friends are around.

to show good fruit instead.

my friends when others are mean to them; helping my
friends when they’re upset, angry, hurt, or afraid; etc.
3. What actions don’t show loyalty? Telling secrets, saying
someone isn’t your friend anymore, letting others talk badly

To Do
