Our Annual Christmas Show
Briana and Marianne
Another successful Christmas show took place
at John Adam Memorial School on Tuesday,
December 10th. The show was performed by
the students twice that day. The first show
started at 8:30 a.m. and the second show
started at 1:15 p.m.
All of the classes
participated in the
show. Some of the
students played the
xylophone,
the
recorder and the
bells. Some also
danced to the music.
Everyone enjoyed listening to this
class play Dragon in the Sky on the
xylophone.
Mrs. Bonneville has been preparing the
students for the Christmas show for the past 5
weeks. We appreciate Mrs. Bonneville for
putting so much dedication into the show.
Everyone did an amazing job!
The second part of the show was a play called
A Christmas Dragon and it was performed by
the Cycle 1 and 2 students. Some students
played the role of the elves. Emily played the
role of the Christmas Dragon and Antonio was
lucky enough to play the role of Santa Claus.
The show was about a lost dragon who tried to
find his way back home with the help of Santa
Claus.
The gym was decorated with a big, beautiful
castle. On it was written ‘Santa's Castle’ and
beside it, there were big presents that
decorated the wall.
Thank you Mrs. Bonneville for working so hard
on making this show a success!! Also, thank
you to all the parents for bringing in food for
the local food bank.
Santa reads from his big black book.

Ms. Seath’s Class
La Classe de Mme Stephanie
Jaden and Marie Pier
Jake et Michael
There are 20 students in Ms. Seath’s class.
This month, the class is working on a
Christmas theme. Each day, a new student
gets to eat a chocolate from the advent
calendar. They made reindeer, bells and snow
globes to decorate their class. They also
played Christmas bingo.
Les 24 élèves de Mme Stéphanie aiment
l’hiver. Maintenant leur thème est Noël. La
classe de Mme Stéphanie fait des activités
intéressantes. Ils ont fabriqué des cloches de
Noël avec des contenants de yogourt et ils ont
décoré des biscuits pain d’épices.
When the students come to school, they have
responsibilities during homeroom. For
example, they have to get their pencils ready,
check their agendas and then look at the
board to see the message that Ms. Seath
wrote.
Les élèves admirent leurs cloches de Noël.
Most of the class likes Robert Munsch books
and reading set books. They read in the
morning and after lunch. They read alone, in
little groups, two by two and in front of the
class. Ms. Seath’s students are becoming
better readers.
Maintenant, Mme Stéphanie lit aux élèves un
roman de Noël qui s’appelle Junie B. en 1re
Année: On L’appelait Nez Rouge. Les élèves
lisent des histoires tous les soirs pour pratiquer
leur lecture. Après Noël, leurs thèmes vont
être les olympiques, les dinosaures et l’océan.
Ornament Sale
Anya, Arianne and Cynthia
What an amazing sale!!! For this year’s
ornament sale, every student in the school
made a Christmas ornament. The ornaments
were sold for one dollar each.
Some of the ornaments
were: golden
pinecones with flowers, small light bulb
reindeer with pipe cleaners for the antlers,
clothespin stars and many other ornaments
made from recycled materials. We used
recycled materials because our school theme
is recycling.
All of the classes made wonderful Christmas ornaments.
The student council helped sell the ornaments.
They also collected and counted the money.
This year, we raised $275 from the sale. All of
the money went to the Christmas food baskets
to help those in need.

Badminton Tournament
Marie Pier
This year, John Adam participated in the
badminton tournament. Eight lucky and
talented Cycle 3 students got to go. The
tournament took place at Centennial Regional
High School on December 13th.
Lots of students tried out at the lunchtime
practices that Mrs. Danielle organized. During
the practices, she evaluated the students until
she had her final team. At last, 4 girls and 4
boys made the team. One girl and one boy
played singles, two girls and two boys played
doubles together and the last boy and girl
played mixed doubles.
Fun Stuff!
Briana and Marianne
HO! HO! HO! John Adam school prepared fun
activities for everyone on the last week of
school before Christmas break. Instead of
wearing colour code, we had specific colors to
wear on the last week before our Christmas
break.
The 2013 badminton team celebrates their
2nd place finish at the tournament.
There were 8 teams at the tournament. The
boy who played in singles came back with a 1st
place ribbon! The team also received three 2nd
place ribbons! Unfortunately, the boys double
team
came
in
4th
and
didn’t
receive a ribbon. Overall, John Adam came in
second place at the tournament.
On Monday, we had to wear red clothes and
on Tuesday we wore green. We had to dress
up in fancy clothes on Wednesday. On
Thursday, we wore fun accessories. Most
students wore pajamas on Friday. It was really
fun to wear different clothes to school. It was
nice to be out of colour code for a week.
This month the Grade 5/6 students had 2 bake
sales. The money that was collected from the
bake sales is for the Grade 5/6 class trips. We
raised just over $1000 for our trips!
On Wednesday, December 18th, the whole
school went to the cinema to watch the
movie Frozen. It was very good and funny.
Happy Holidays!
