2016-2017 Ironbound Boys and Girls Club Recreational League
Recreational soccer is designed to teach players soccer skills, teamwork and
sportsmanship in an environment where participation and fun are the focus, not
competition. Recreational soccer is a learning program for youth players organized
by Ironbound SC.
The program for the 2016-2017 season will be divided into 4 sessions:

AGES:
The program is for boys and girls from the ages of 3 to 14.
LOCATION:
All practices and games are held at Independence Park, in the enclosed field on the Adams
Street side. (Fall and Spring)
Winter sessions are held at the Ironbound Boys and Girls Club.

REGISTRATION:
You may register on Tuesdays or Fridays,
from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at the Ironbound Boys and Girls Club, 11 Providence St, Newark, NJ
07105.
All registrations require an application, 2 pictures and proof of age (copy of the birth
certificate, or passport).
Registrations are open all year and are accepted on a rolling basis.

TRAINING SHIRTS:
Players will receive their training shirts at registration. Training shirts must be worn for all
training sessions. Players receive one training shirt per year.
UNIFORMS:
Players will receive their uniform, during the first weekend of scheduled games.
Uniforms must be worn for all games. Uniforms consist of jersey, black shorts, and black
socks.
BALLS:
Players will receive their ball at registration. Balls must be brought to all training sessions.
Balls are not required on game day. Players receive one ball per year.
SPECIAL NOTIFICATIONS:
All participants must wear, socks, shin guards (mandatory, and must be fully covered by
socks), sneakers or cleats. It is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to provide shin
guards, and proper footwear.
All jewelry must be removed prior to the start of games/practices. No jewelry of any kind is
allowed for the safety of the player and those around.
