HIV in theatre and performance
and
Creative collaboration for OUTBURST Arts Festival
Friday 12th August 1.30pm
Alyson Campbell will be here on Friday to talk about her work addressing HIV/AIDS stigma and
awareness through performance and how theatre has played its part in the HIV story. As a respected
director and academic, Alyson has devised and directed performances with HIV related themes, on
stage and in the community, all over the world.
Come along and take part!
Following this event, Alyson and Niall Rea from Theatre of Pluck, will be discussing the performance
being devised for this year’s festival with award winning writer Lachlan Philpot and Positive Life.
You can get involved in this exciting project and contribute to the stories that will be used to compile
this piece of innovative theatre using various locations in Belfast as its stage.
All facilitators from Outburst and Theatre of Pluck are professionals who have experience of working
with people affected by HIV. Confidentiality will be respected and acknowledged throughout the
project and performance. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Dawn on
