Selection Process Each week, typically on Friday, availability will be sought by the Selection chair for the match the week after. This will primarily be via Teamer for the 2013-14 season. It is vital that all players respond to this by Monday evening to enable the selection process to be completed. If you are unsure of availability, please inform your Captain or the Selection chair so that you can be considered. If you do not respond you will not be selected. For Ladies it is essential that availability is known in advance of each weekend’s games as Team assignment has to be made for the following week on the Saturday preceding and this has to be entered on the Hampshire Hockey Association website to ensure only eligible players are selected. Ladies are now permitted to play in a team below the one for which they are registered but eight players can only play for the Ladies 1s (starred players). The Men’s and Ladies Selection chairs discuss that week’s selections with the team captains, for Men this takes place via Skype on Monday evening. Their selection will be based on a number of things including: i) ii) iii) iv) v) Availability to play that week (including venue); Balance of teams; Umpiring appointments; Attendance at training; Subscriptions being up-to-date – if subs are more than two months in arrears, players will not be selected; Affiliated to Hampshire Hockey Association www.fehc.co.uk / www.fleethockey.com vi) Disciplinary concerns – if a player has been suspended following a red card, or accumulated too many other yellow or green cards they will not be eligible for selection. Following the completion of the Selection process, Captains will communicate the weekly selection and details of the forthcoming match to those selected. This will be via a text message and/or email from Teamer that requires your confirmation. The complete selection spreadsheet is hosted on Googledocs for all to consult, but will mirror the selections made via Teamer. This also includes an availability list for both Men and Ladies that can be completed in advance of the selection process starting each week. The Selection spreadsheet googledocs link is available on request from Team Captains . . . Incentives New Adult members are entitled to a ‘buy one get one free’ offer when they purchase Club shirts.
