Why we have an Alumni Tournament
There are two GOOD reasons why we have an Alumni Tournament.
A. To get together and have fun with friends and reminisce about the glory years.
B. To help raise funds for the Boy’s & Girl’s Basketball Programs.
RULES:
 PARTICIPANTS MUST BE BENNINGTON HIGH SCHOOL
GRADUATES!
 ALL PARTICIPANTS “MUST BE LISTED” ON THE TEAM ROSTER
BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT STARTS.
 Teams may combine a team of one year older or younger (EXAMPLE 9900-01) otherwise you need permission from tournament directors to join
other teams.
 Two 15 minute Halves ( running clock, except last minute of 1st half & last two
minutes of game)
 5 minute half time
 2 timeouts per game
 2 minute overtime (clock stops last minute, and one extra timeout)
 High School Rules… Free Throw rule, wait until it hits the rim!

Dear Alumni,
Welcome to the 1st annual 2012 Bennington Alumni Basketball Tournament. WE are
only going to play on Saturday, March 31st, so Sunday can be a travel day for those
who come from a distance. Each game will be two 15-minute halves, and we will be
starting games every 45 minutes to an hour depending on the number of teams signed up.
We will be using the HS gym that allows us to play two games at a time. We will
condense the final 3 games down to the main court only playing one game at a time.
Every team is still guaranteed at least two games. Play will begin at 8:00 am on
Saturday.
We will again have certified officials. Any disrespect towards officials will result in
immediate ejection from the tournament this year and NEXT year.
To the captains receiving these letters…please share this information with your
teammates and return the entry from ON TIME! The schedule for the day will
depend on the number of teams entered.
The Warehouse, owned by famous alumni Dave Nelson 85’ and lovely wife Jill,
(formally Keno Cabana, also known as Oft’s for those of you who are that old to
remember) plans on having a social event that evening with a variety of specials. This
will give all alumni a chance to catch up on old times.
Thanks for supporting the Bennington basketball programs. I hope you enjoy your day of
reminiscing with friends and playing basketball together once again. Any questions,
