We are delighted to share with you more information about the Davis Cup Trophy Day May 26th Thursday at White
Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre Abingdon.
We are planning a Festival of Tennis to celebrate the Davis Cup Trophy being in Oxfordshire and would welcome
your help and support and ideas. The key objectives of the day are:

To get more people playing tennis more often
Introduce the sport to new players/bring back to the game lapsed players
Participation of state schools with the focus on primary
Showcase and member recruitment for all Clubs/Venues in Oxfordshire
Inclusive fun and engaging event
We have a great opportunity to encourage children and adults to have a go at Tennis and see if we can engage them
in playing more often. We hope you will see this as a showcase of our sport and your club and would like help in the
following ways:





If you have any contacts with a local primary school/secondary school please talk to us about how we could
get them send a class to take part in the activities for an hour
Invite all your members to come along/take part in the tennis activities and have their photo taken with the
Trophy
Come and hand out any leaflets you have on your club/talk with visitors about how to get into Tennis/club
promotional equipment
Please tell us if you have any VIP’s/celebrities we could invite on your behalf
Any ideas/suggestions you have for the day
We will be publicising this throughout Oxfordshire and as you can imagine a lot to plan/manage so we do need your
support to make this a really exciting day for Oxfordshire Tennis. Please can you respond asap or at least by Monday
