Audioscript
A: One day when I was 15, I came home very late. I’d
been at a friend’s house and I forgot to call my
parents and tell them where I was. When I got home,
my mom and dad were so angry they grounded me
for a week!
B: But what did you say?
A: well, I told them that I genuinely forgot to call and
that I wasn’t being a bad son, but they said I had to
learn a lesson. I still think they could have been easier
on me. I guess they’d been really worried, though.
C: I had a party once, and when my mom and dad
came back, they discovered that the dining room
table had been broken.
B: How did that happen?
C: Some of my friends were dancing and tripped
onto the table and broke the table leg, you know,
just by accident. My dad made me pay for the
repairs. It took me weeks to earn the money!
A: I guess that’s a pretty fair punishment, though.
C: Yeah, I guess. I was pretty annoyed at the time…
