Here are a few tips to help you build the perfect ElectroCity:
1. Watch those taxes! High taxes mean an unhappy and small population. Bolster your taxes at
the start of the game and then reduce them once the money starts coming in.
2. You only have 150 turns, but you don’t have to do something every turn. It’s a good idea to
skip turns now and again to let things get built and to let the money come in.
3. Don’t neglect tourism. Remember an environmentally friendly city is only one of the
objectives of the game; you’ll need population boosters such as airports and campgrounds
to improve your overall score.
4. Make sure you clean up once your mines and gas wells are exhausted
5. You can upgrade your structures and sometimes it’s worth improving your current
structures ahead of spending more money on new ones.
6. Your forests are valuable, log and plant for extra income.
7. If you click on your city and then on the ‘programmes’ tab, you can encourage your citizens
to be energy efficient. This can offset some of the money and land you will need to spend on
providing power.
8. Nuclear power generates a lot of energy, but it does have a cost in terms of environmental
impact and citizen happiness.
9. Paper mills and aluminium smelters are big money earners and you need farms to provide
jobs for your citizens.
10. Your river squares are valuable; they are needed for cooling power plants and for generating
hydro energy but are also popular tourism centres.
Good luck!
