Introduction:
Hall of Heroes will be hosting Path to Valhalla Super Series which is a 4 heat WH40K 1500pt
tournament during April and May then a finals in June. Each event is a one day event with 3 rounds
and all the information regarding these events will be found later in this players pack. Top 3 players
from each event will not only win prizes but will win free entry into the finals and the top half will
win invitations to the finals as well.
Event Information:








When:
o Penrith Heat 1: Saturday April 9th 2016
o Campbelltown Heat 1: Saturday April 30th 2016
o Penrith Heat 2: Saturday May 14th
o Campbelltown Heat 2: Saturday May 28th
o Final (Campbelltown): Saturday June 18th
Registration Time: 9:30am
Start Time: 10:00am Sharp
Point Limit: 1500pts
Entry: $45 Per Heat ($35 if pre-registering before April 1st for Heat 1 & May 1st for Heat 2)
Rounds: 3
Round Time: 150 minutes
Prizes:
o Prizes for Top 3, Best Painted and Best Army List for each event
o In addition the top 3 from each heat will receive free entry into the final, and the top
half each heat will receive an invitation to the final.
o 1st place during the Final will receive the Path to Valhalla Trophy.
Army lists and Restrictions:
Your army must adhere to the following:

Your army MUST be a BATTLE-FORGED army.

You may use your primary detachment’s army specific data cards.

Your army must be 1500pts OR LESS.

Lords of War can be used (Including Imperial Knight Detachments & Formations).

You may only have a MAXIMUM of 1 LORD OF WAR CHOICE in your army.


Forge World army lists and units are allowed
Your army MUST BE PAINTED (At least the 3 colour Minimum standard).

You must bring rulebook, codices, dice, templates and measuring tape. Also you must also
have printed or digital copies any Errata that correspond to your rulebooks, codices, etc.

Only Official Games Workshop codices, Rulebooks, errata’s and FAQ’s are to be used, this
includes official rules in White Dwarf and Forge World.

NO PROXIES ALLOWED (After-market figures and conversions are accepted).

You must have your ARMY LIST PRINTED out with 2 ADDITIONAL COPIES, one of which must
be handed to the T.O during registration.

Each event will adhere to the following schedule, some setbacks may occur and the T,O will make
calls on the day.

Going to Time:
If your games go to time the T.O can give a time extension of up to 20minutes. No new turns can
start at the end of time; only the current turn can be played.
Rounds and Missions:
Each round players will be given a new scoresheet each and allocated a table number. Every round
has a set mission and set deployment map allocated please check below to find out which mission is
being played and full rules for each mission can be found in the Maelstrom of War Missions section
of the Warhammer 40000 7th edition Rulebook.

Terrain
Terrain must be agreed upon before the games starts before both players before rolling off. Basic
rules for terrain for our events are as follows.



Only terrain that counts as area terrain are ruined building, craters, Forest and water
features.
All models must have at least 25% their base in area terrain to be able to claim cover
All scenic building that are closed count at Impassable terrain. (Fortifications are not scenic
terrain and have official rules in the rulebook or supplements.

Give this slip to the Tournament Organiser (T.O) and he will record your results
How Scoring Works:
Each round a player will receive 5 points for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss, you also
can pick up bonus points each round from Slay the Warlord 2 points, Line Breaker 1 point, First
Blood point 1 and 4 points for each Lord of War choice destroyed. Players ranks will be worked out
by how many point they have earned each round combined with their Painting Score and Army List
Score. Tie Breakers will be decided by total Victory Points earned over the day, followed by total
secondary objectives completed (Slay the Warlord, etc.) on the day.
Painting Score
Each heat the T.O and a second judge will be scoring painting out of 15 and the player with the best
score wins Best Painted

Army List Score
Each heat the T.O and a second judge will be scoring players army lists out of 15.
Each Army list will be scored on the following:
Balance 0-5
Any army list that is not repetitive, even spread through the force organisation chart (has at least a
1x HQ, 1x Elites, 2x Troops, 1x Fast Attack and 1 Heavy Support) and each unit is unique will scored
higher for balance than an army that are spaming the same units, spaming weapon load outs
throughout the list and excludes force organisation types (for example not having any Fast Attack).
Originality 0-5
An army list that is fluffy, based around a theme or unique to the current Meta will be scored higher
for Originality than a repetitive, unoriginal or a Meta list.
Valour 0-5
An army with equal or more points spent on combined TROOPS choices than any other combined
choices (E.G HQ, Elites, Fast Attack, Heavy Support, Lord of War sections) and is running only 1 lord
of war choice will be scored higher than someone running multiple Lord of War choices or have
spent more points on another section .
For Example: Ben TROOPS choices are a Squad of Space Marines and a Squad of scouts combined
they come to 425 points. Ben would be better scored in Valour if:






All his HQ units combined points are equal or less than 425
All his ELITE units combined points are equal or less than 425
All his FAST ATTACK units combined points are equal or less than 425
All his HEAVY SUPPORT units combined points are equal or less than 425
ALL his LORD OF WAR choices combined points are equal or less than 425
All his FORTIFICATIONS combined points are equal or less than 425
Mistakes, Errors, Judging and Unfair Play
During games players may make errors or both may not agree on a rule, if this occurs you may
request the T.O to make a call. The T.O call is final and we request you accept the outcome to keep
the event running smoothly.
If a player make a mistake or broken a rule, the T.O can be called and he may issue an official
warning. If a player receives 3 official warning during their current round they will be disqualified.
Official Warning can be given for the following:



Misrepresenting game state E.G Hiding roles, moving models to far on several occasions, not
declaring information before rolls (Shooting targets, Reserves, etc) several times, and many
more small offences repeated several times by the T.O digressions.
Offensive behaviour to players or T.O.
Misleading information on Army Roster or not adhering to the army guidelines.

The Blood Rule
At the Hall of Heroes we believe that the best thing about tournaments is meeting new players. To
facilitate this to the best of our ability we use the Blood Rule. You may nominate a player you do not
wish to play against because of any one of the following conditions:







They are someone you are related to
They are someone you have travelled from country NSW with
Someone you have travelled from interstate with
Someone you have travelled from another country with
Someone you work with
Someone you live with
Someone else for whom you have just cause to blood rule
If you believe you are eligible, then please email us before the tournament.
Please note that we do our best to facilitate Blood Rule requests but please be aware that depending
on player numbers and placing’s it may not always be possible to facilitate all requests in later rounds.
