Slovenia wins Group B with convincing win over Denmark
With great play in second half Slovenia secures 31:23 (16:14) win over Denmark for top spot in
Group B.
Match was very even in the first half. Slovenia had slight advantage of one goal but Denmark was
easily equalizing. Danes also managed to have one goal advantage but that did not last for long.
Four minutes before the end of first half Slovenia had two goal advantage which they kept until the
buzzer.
In second half Slovenia managed to completely break Danes. They were in control of the match
and in 20th minute they were leading with six goals. Denmark could not keep up with high rhytym
Slovenia had. Problem for them was also great Slovenian defense.
Domen Novak was given award for the best player in Slovenian team while Mathias Moller was
best among Danes. With this win Slovenia takes two points to Main Round where they will play
against Spain and France from group A.

with us. Denmark is great team but in the end our goalkeeper was the key, our aggressive defense
and few easy goals from fast breaks. We have to hard games against France and Spain next, we
are going to next round with two points but everything now starts from the beginning."

"We won with eight goal difference which is great. The most important thing is that we have two
points for Main Round so we basically need one win for semifinal and that is our goal. We are
going match by match, first Spain than France. We have high goals but whole team is responsible
that we have two points for next round."

"I think we played okay but we just missed too much. We had a lot of chances at the beginning of
second half but we weren't effective enough. The rest of the second half we had too many
situations where we lost. Maybe because of power, I think Slovenia is fantastic team and of course
we are sad that we lost with so many goals. It's very good for us and the boys to learn what we
need to play in this kind of matches."

"I think Slovenia is great team but in my opinion if we have a good day we can beat them, but today
Slovenia was better team. Now we also have two tough matches but I think if we play good as we
can we are able to win. But definitely those are going to be two hard matches."
