Position:
Membership & Events Co-ordinator
Reports to:
Chief Executive Officer
Key Relationships:
LAVic Staff / Region / Centre personnel, Sponsors & Partners,
Volunteers, Parents & Athletes, Schools and other
stakeholders as required.
Purpose:
In accordance with the Strategic Plan, assist in the
implementation of the Membership program and
community engagement activities. Provide assistance to our
members and assist in the promotion of our brand to further
develop Little Athletics as the sport of choice for children
aged 5 -15. Provide opportunities for our volunteers to be
involved and recognised for their commitment.
Key Responsibilities:

Centre Development





Provide assistance with Centre enquiries including Centre
Resources and policies.
Assisting Centres with implementation of LAVic approved products
and endorsed rounds.
Assisting with the administrative requirements for Centres, including
Affiliation processes, Insurance and Athlete participation
certificates.
Coordination of registration items and promotional merchandise.
Membership Development


Provide assistance to Parents and Athletes to improve the customer
experience and understanding of the Little Athletics model.
Provide support to the Competitions Manager with delivery of the
athletics program at Centre level.



Merchandise

Coordination of the LAVic merchandise items for State events,
including the design, purchasing and distribution at all Association
events.

Assisting with the distribution of approved uniform items.
Sponsorship Events


Coordinating the major sponsorship events
recruitment of volunteers for these activities.
o RACV Australia Day Activity
o RCH Good Friday Appeal
o Jetstar Competitions
o LAVic Relaython – including live streaming
including
the
Little Athletics in Primary Schools (LAPS)







Provide assistance to the E-commerce and Communication
managers with the online registration for membership and
Association events.
Assist with enquiries for the online database.
Management of delivery of the LAPS program within Victoria
including all stakeholders within the program including but not
limited to;
Athlete Development Officers (ADO’s)
 Recruitment
 Uniforms/Manuals
 Liaison with LAA
 Accreditation
Promotion and Marketing of the LAPS program year on year to
LAVic community and schools within Victoria.
Ordering, stocktake and delivery of LAPS resources throughout
the year.
Booking and managing LAPS school visits.
Reports, Planning and analysis year on year of the success and
or improvements needed as part of the program.
Working with Children Checks – WWC Checks


Management of the Working with Children Check register and
implementation of policies.
Assisting Centres with the production of guidelines and distribution
of resources.

Association Activities
Coordinating volunteers for Association activities.
Assisting with the rewards and awards program for Centres and
athletes from individual events and major competitions.
Assisting with Association events, including State Championships,
Sponsorship events, Conference, AGM and other events as
required.
Assisting with Office duties as required.




NOTE:
This position requires flexible hours, some weekend work and
periodic travel across the State.



Attendance at all State Championships events.
Attendance at all Sponsorship events.
Possible attendance at other LAVic sanctioned events at the
request of the Chief Executive Officer.
Other Allowances:
LAVic staff will be reimbursed at the ATO rate for use of private motor vehicles
used for work purposes.
LAVic staff may be afforded ‘time off in lieu’ for involvement in some afterhours activities at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
Key Selection Criteria










A sound understanding of the Sport competition model.
Must have a valid – employee Working with Children Check
Excellent communication and public speaking skills
High level of organisation skills
A valid Driver’s License
Sound computer skills including an understanding of Microsoft
environment.
Ability to work in a team environment and engage with volunteers.
Ability to work at a high pace
Demonstrated skills in determining objectives, establishing priorities and
planning timelines.
Must be able to work flexible hours, weekend work to achieve
outcomes.
Contract length – to the end of March, then by negotiation.
Salary package to be determined.
