Accommodation will be over 2 floors. Male students will be on one floor and female
students on another. Bedrooms for members of staff are situated at both ends of
each floor. There are alarmed doors at both ends of each floor to ensure that
students cannot leave their floor at night.
Schedule and Programme of Activities
Wednesday 23rd November.
o Arrive at school at the normal time (8.40am) and register in the hall. Please
use the main entrance.
o Students should be in casual clothes for travelling.
o Students need a packed lunch in disposable packaging. No fizzy drinks.
o Medication will be collected and retained by staff (asthma inhalers can be
kept by the students)
o Depart school and arrive at the Conway Centre at approximately 12pm
o Induction and bed making

o Choice activities include – Ropes and Zip wire/ Canoeing/ High Level Ropes/
Bushcraft/ Via Ferrata/ Mountain Biking/ Climbing Wall/ Abseiling

o Arrive at Stretford Grammar School = 15h10. Students will be taken to the
canteen via the back canteen doors where parents can come in to collect
them
Emergency Contact details
In the case of an emergency please call the school who are able to make contact
with the group leader at any time.
The contact in school is Mr. M. Mullins and the number is 0161 865 2293 (at school)
or 07816925610 (out of hours).
Medicines
Students who take medication will need to have enough medication with them for
the duration of the trip. The medication should be clearly labelled with the student’s
name. Students who use inhalers should bring them on the trip and they need to be
labelled with their name. Parents/ carers should ensure that their child is familiar
with the dosage they require and the frequency of dose. All medicines other than
inhalers should be given to a member of staff on the trip. Students need to see the
member of staff each day for their medication.

o One small suitcase or bag which students can carry themselves.

o Footwear that will get wet. (old trainers or wellingtons)

They are a trip hazard on the stairs
The Centre provides:
o Waterproof tops and bottoms as needed
o All equipment for activities – harnesses and helmets
o Drying rooms where clothes can be dried over night

Code of Conduct for students on the Conway Centre Trip 23rd -25th
November 2016
Stretford Grammar School Students are expected to behave in a responsible and
cooperative manner during school visits. To avoid any misunderstanding it is vital
that parents, carers and students are aware of the behaviour we expect on this trip.
We would like parents and carers to read through this Code of Conduct with their
children so that they fully understand what is expected of them.
1. Students must listen to and follow the instructions of all adults responsible for
them.
2. Punctuality and politeness is expected at all times. Students must pay attention
to all instructions given and to meeting times and places.
3. Attention must be given to emergency and safety notices in all places. Students
must observe all the rules, advice and regulations shared with them.
4. Students must never put themselves deliberately at risk.
5. Where any problems arise students should speak to one of the adults
accompanying the trip immediately.
6. On the coach students must remain in their seats and must be wearing a seat
belt.
7. No chewing gum is allowed on the trip
6. Students are expected to maintain their room in a reasonable state and leave it as
they found it.
7. There will be a time for lights out and silence at night. After this time students
must stay in their rooms and remain silent.
8. Any damage incurred by students will be the financial responsibility of parents.
9. No mobile phones are allowed on this trip. There will be a school mobile available
in the case of an emergency.
10. Students must not bring more than £5 on this trip. There is a small shop at the
centre which students will be able to visit.
11. No aerosols are allowed at the Conway Centre because they can set off the
sensitive fire alarms.
12. Any student who breaches the Code of Conduct risks his / her place on future
trips
