Each child will pick a small piece of colored paper,
crayon, or other child-safe item to use as their
game piece. Children will take turns rolling the die and moving the number of
spaces indicated on the die. Read the square to the child and talk about what to do.
Feel free to talk about the different green habits that are featured in the game.
Optional: When a child lands on a picture, ask him or her to pretend to be the
pictured item.
Allow all of the children to participate and finish the game. Avoid placing the
emphasis on who finishes first.

Moving the Game Outside
Turn this game into an outdoor active game by redrawing it on a cement surface
with sidewalk chalk or make large game squares out of cardboard to use on the
playground or in the backyard. The children will serve as their own game piece.
*Do not allow children under the age of three to use small pieces that may pose
as a choking hazard. Supervise children of all ages and remind them not to put
small objects in their mouth.
