Aberdeen and Northern Marts, Quoybrae held its second show and sale of Young Farmers
Overwintered Cattle on 3rd April 2017 with an entry of 12 forward.
In the show sponsored by SureCalf the Overall champion was a 554kg British Blue cross bullock from
James Gunn, Whitefield, Reiss which sold for £1,280 to the judge Bill Cameron, Burnside of
Edingight, Grange.
The reserve champion was a 570kg Limousin cross bullock from Laura Gunn, Balmore, Dounreay and
realised £1,300 to Backmuir Livestock, Keith.
Overall the six bullocks averaged 558.8kg £1,260 per head (225.6p per kg) + 17.8p on the year. The
six heifers averaged 485.3kgs £1,143.33 per head (235.6 per kg) +3.3p on the year.
12 cattle averaged 534.3kgs £1,221.10 per head (230.6 per kg) +15.4p on the year.
