Brookfield-Mardis Scholarship
Amount: One $750, one-time award

Enos Moss Scholarship
Amount: One $2,000, one-time award
Enos Moss is a former treasurer of Saint Louis Public Schools and a dedicated supporter of
Saint Louis Public Schools students.

Must attend a comprehensive high school (Roosevelt, Sumner or Vashon)
GPA: minimum 2.5

John and Eva Dunn Scholarship
Amount: One $500, one-time award

 Must have experienced foster care while enrolled at a Saint Louis Public Schools high
school

Phillip J. Hickey Scholarship
Amount: One $2,750 award for four years, totaling $11,500
Phillip J. Hickey was the superintendent of Saint Louis Public Schools from 1942-1963.
Prior to this, he served as principal of Carondelet School (1924) and Madison School
(1925), as well as a Special Assignment at the Main Office (1934) and Secretary-Treasurer
(1935). Following his term as superintendent, Hickey worked as a special consultant for
Saint Louis Public Schools in 1964.

 Family income not to exceed $30,000
o Family income as established by a current W-2 form or income tax return for
most recent year required and must accompany completed application

Finalists for this award will be required to participate in a 30-minute in-person
interview with the scholarship panel at the Saint Louis Public Schools
Headquarters. Interviews will take place at the end of March/beginning of April.
Sol M. Glaser Scholarship
Amount: One $500, one-time award
Qualifications & Requirements
 GPA: between 2.5-3.0

Zadie L. Ratliff III Scholarship
Amount: One $1,000, one-time award
Zadie Lee Ratliff III served as the Official Photographer of Saint Louis Public Schools for
nearly 40 years. Throughout his term, Mr. Ratliff mentored others, inspiring those whose
lives he touched to pursue photography as a passion and as a career.
Qualifications & Requirements
 Must plan to pursue a career in photography
 GPA: minimum 2.5

Special Saint Louis Public Schools Program/School-Specific
Scholarships
Special Saint Louis Public Schools Named Scholarships recognize individuals or organizations
which have made contributions to provide scholarships for Class of 2015 Saint Louis Public
Schools students who have attended a particular school in the district or who have been
involved in a particular program. Information on each scholarship will be sent to Class of
2015 students and their counselors. All applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March
27. Students may submit paper applications, but are highly encouraged to submit applications
through Scholarship Central.
Farragut School – Jimmie Irons Scholarship
Amount: One $500, one-time award
Jimmie Irons is a former principal of Farragut Elementary School, where he served for 28
years.

Peabody School – Otis Williams Scholarship
Amount: One $500, one-time award
Otis Williams is the executive director of the Saint Louis Development Corporation, a
former engineer, and the founder of the Peabody Elementary School task force.

Roosevelt 60s Rough Rider Alumni Scholar-Athlete Scholarship
Amount: Up to two awards of $2,000 per year, renewable for up to four years upon showing
progress toward post-secondary degree. Scholarship can be used at any accredited nonprofit
institution of higher learning, 2- or 4-year, or at an accredited, nonprofit trade college.
This scholarship is funded by a 1960s Roosevelt alumnus who was a scholar-athlete at
Roosevelt High School, and by the Roosevelt Community Council.
Qualifications & Requirements
 Active participation in organized sports at Roosevelt High School
 GPA: minimum 2.75

 Student shows strong character and an ability to persist in college
 Typed essay on “How the 60s Rough Rider Scholarship Will Help Me Achieve My
Goals In College and Life,” not to exceed 500 words
 2 letters of recommendation, one from an athletic coach and one from another
teacher, employer, pastor, or similar person
Students in Transition – Dr. Robert H. Koff Scholarship
Amount: Two $500, one-time awards, awarded to one male and one female student
Dr. Robert H. Koff has served as a dean for several schools of education, and was also an
administrator at Washington University. He is a devoted and loyal supporter of the
students of Saint Louis Public Schools.
Qualifications & Requirements
 Must have experienced homelessness while enrolled at a Saint Louis Public Schools
high school.
 GPA: minimum 2.5
