a state of Mindfulness

A Gnostic Guide to – Mindfulness and
Being in the Moment.
What is Mindfulness?
• Externally, it is a state of
restful alertness in which
we are fully conscious of
whatever we are doing,
while we do it .
• The ability to pay
deliberate attention to
our experiences from
moment to moment.
What is Mindfulness?
• Internally, it is being
aware of what is
going on in our
thoughts, feelings and
actions during our
day to day life without
judgement.
Mindfulness has two main aspects:
• Observing the external
aspects of what we are
doing.
• Observing our internal
aspects, or Inner
psychological states.
Observing the external aspects of
what we are doing:
• Politicians &
Celebrities
• Our gestures, habits,
speech, movements,
body postures…
Observing what is going on inside
us:
Thoughts
Feelings
and Actions
Mindfulness takes place when:
• We have a certain level of “awareness”
• This awareness is active consciousness.
• This activated state of consciousness
brings about a raising of the “level of our
being”.
Can you feel your feet in your
shoes?

So what is Consciousness?
• When are we conscious?
• It is when we are activated into a state of
alert perception
• Who is the consciousness?
• It is sometimes known as the Higher Self,
the Soul, the Essence, or Buddhata
Working with the “light” of your
Consciousness
In a state of Alert Consciousness
from moment to moment:
• We are Aware of the external world
• We are Aware of our physical aspects
• We are Aware of our internal world

“Learning how
to be in the
moment or live
in the moment.”
What stops us from being in a state
of Mindfulness?
• Really, Mindfulness is actually nothing to do with
the mind itself….
• It is a state of consciousness
• The mind is used by either the consciousness or
aspects of the unconsciousness.
Unconsciousness is a barrier to Mindfulness….
Unconsciousness is when :
• We have mechanical thoughts, feelings,
and actions and become so “identified”
with them that we believe them to be our
reality – who we really are…
• When we become so caught up with them
that we are totally “fascinated” by them
and cannot escape from their grip.
How do we normally perceive our
daily life?
• Identified with states and events
• Through Mental Multi-tasking
• “Asleep”/unconscious of surroundings
• Mechanically
• Subjectively
• Illogically
Mental and Physical Multi-tasking
In a state of Mindfulness we begin
to perceive things as they really
are!
• Objectively, truthfully
• With a sense of reality & discernment
• With clarity, calmness, peace & focus
• With a sense of purpose
• In a non – identified way
We can learn how to be in a state of
Mindfulness:
• By Practicing being in the moment
• By Practicing being in a higher vibration or
state of consciousness
• By Practicing awakening of the
consciousness
• By Practicing being centred and in a state
of alert perception
What has Gnosis go to do with
Mindfulness?
• A way of being to help us discern the truth
• Objective understanding
• Direct Knowledge
• Conscious Reality

The mind can be like a Horse!…
To activate the Essence.
• Psychologically we have to learn to be active not
mechanical, so that we can be awake in any given
moment.
• You may know you are on a chair (Passive knowledge)
but it is only when you place all your attention on the
sensation of sitting on the chair that it becomes “a living
experience” – (Active knowledge)
• Thus by applying this principle to our internal states, we
are fully aware of the thoughts, feelings and actions
within us, only then do we start to “Live” rather than just
exist.

Self awareness
and Self observation

a view to understanding the mystery of our own

Who we really are :
• Discover our reality….
• We have many psychological defects or
egos, which are aspects of our
unconsciousness, that use our brain /
mind and manifest through our Thoughts,
Feelings & Actions.
The 3 Factors of the Revolution
of the Consciousness
1) Purify
Awakened Consciousness ~
a state of Mindfulness
3) Share
Sacrifice for Humanity
Mystical Death
2) Create
Birth
Mystical death – Liberating the light
and Self-purification.
Transmutation of the energies – The
Birth (Re-birth)
Sacrifice for Humanity – Sharing and
selflessness.
Recycling our Energies & Sharing with
others ~
• We can eliminate these psychological
defects & consciously use the energy
they’d normally encourage us to waste.
• By understanding our own reality &
changing it for the better we are able to
be more compassionate and share with
others.
