Parents/Coaches Code of Conduct
1.
I understand the rules of wrestling and the policies of the Indiana State Wrestling Association.
2.
I will be a positive role model and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy for all
wrestlers, coaches, officials and spectators.
3.
I will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, athlete, or parent such
as booing and taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.
4.
I will obey the rules and resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
5.
I will demand that my wrestler treat other competitors, coaches, officials and spectators with respect
regardless of race, creed, color, gender or ability.
6.
I will not verbally or physically abuse any child for making a mistake or losing a competition.
7.
I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may
have for my wrestler to win.
8.
I will respect the officials and their authority during competition and will not confront coaches during a
match.
9.
I will refrain from the use of drugs and alcohol at this event.
