THE TRANSPORTS
 INTRODUCCTION
This Unit is made for children of 5 years old, for three week time, two days
a week, in sessions of 45 minutes each one. Children are in continue
movement, they need to do significant activities, where they can touch,
manipulate, etc., and they need to work with their body, in this way they learn
more easily, so I have prepared this unit with creative and funny activities.
I think that this topic is interesting for children, because they are
surrounded by cars, bikes, buses, etc. and therefore it is easy for infants to
recognize them. Children won´t have difficulty for to learn this topic because
they already know them in Spanish, and through transport we can teach more
things, as colors, forms, numbers, so children learn concepts together.
Through this unit I will work different skill for children to learn to
communicative between them, from simple forms, so that they can make
progress and learn vocabulary in a globalized way.
 OBJETIVES

To learn names of transports.
To know sounds of transports.
To learn vocabulary, about transports.
Relate the word to the transports.
Understand little sentences.
Answering little questions about the features of the transports.
Writing short sentences.
Interest for learn concepts in English.

Characteristics of transports: door, wheels, window, etc.
Active participation in the task.
Identification of sound and name of transport.
Fulfilment of short sentences.

 FIRST WEEK

First session
In this session, we are going to work one skill, listening, through
some songs, where children can know some parts of transport. They will listen
the sounds of transport too.
We are going to present the transports. All children will are sit down in
circle in the floor and we going to show the bips of intelligence. We will
pronounce the words. You can make them, is very easy. Look a picture:
The second time, children will have to repeat these words. Then we will
work one skill of communication, listening, through some songs, which you can
find down, so that children can learn the lyrics of de songs, children will see the
lyrics in the movie.

Children have to learn these songs, so we will sing at the star all sessions.
Then children will listen to the sounds of transport, and they will have to
identify them. They only can speak in English.

Second session
In this session we are going to work other skill, speaking and
communication between them.
We speak with children about features of transport, therefore we will ask
some questions, and children will have to answer them. We will show the bips
of intelligence of previous session.
Some questions are:

What´s your favorite transport?
What transport does your father/mother have?
How many wheels do cars have?
More questions, all questions that you are thinking.
 SECOND WEEK

Third session
We are going to paint: we give children some pictures, and they will have
that reading sentence and then they will paint.
Paint the train of color red.

Fourth session
Today we are going to work other skill, writing, with next activity:
Children will have words, (name of transports) on paper, but in these words,
missing letters, which they will have to write.
We can pronounce the words.

Then, they will make short sentences for practice to grammar. The will have to

 THREE WEEK

Fifth session:
Game of groups: in class, we will make divers groups, depend of
children numbers. This activity is more funny for their, because they learn while
they play. With these activities children use all skills. We are going to play:

Cards of memory
Puzzle
Twister
Cards of memory: you can make them
in your house easily. Children lay the
cards face down, and each one, will
take one and turn it face up, so they
will look if that card is the same, but if
not the same, child will have turn it
face down again. Who to get more
same cards will be the winner.
You can make more games with these
cards.
Puzzle: other group will play with puzzles. Each child will have to get order, all
pieces.

You have to make more puzzles with all transports, and you have to cut
for the black line.

Twister: Typical games, of circle to colors, but this time, the circles are
transports. You have to put pictures of transport on the circles.
Children must speak in English between them, we can children communicate,
while they learn other concepts.

Sixth session: TASK
In last session we will make a global activity for they work all skills.
With this activity we work all skills; therefore children learn to communicate
between them and like this, they use the conversation to natural form.
Children, have to make a poster, with one transport and they have to writing
some sentences. This day, they will have that explain it to classmate in class.

They have that paint a transport and write some features with short
sentences.
For example: My transport is a……..
My (car) is (red).
It has two wheels.
Etc.

 FUNCTIONS
We want children use all skills, for communication between them. We have
suggested some structures, these are:

Wh- questions.
Adj + nouns combination.
Simple past (to be).
Pronouns
You have to be creative and you can make more similar activities.
