ADOPTION OF DEMAND AGGREGATION & SUPPLY AUCTIONING POLICY IN THE ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY March 2015 Objectives of DASAP • To serve as platform to allow Distribution Utilities a yearly venue to procure un-contracted demand requirements from all available and future capacities from generation companies; • To serve as a transparent and competitive bidding/selection process among DUs/ECs in securing Power Supply Agreement at a least cost manner; • Hastens regulatory approval using an Auction Power Supply Agreement Template (developed by DOE in coordination with the ERC); and • Encourage private sector investments and broaden the ownership base in Generation Sector; and provide impetus for the fruition of indicative projects. Upon the execution of the PSA, the parties shall file with the ERC , within thirty (30) days therefrom, a joint application for the approval of the said PSA. Aggregation (n): comes from the Latin ad, meaning to, and gregare, meaning herd. So the word was first used to literally mean to herd or to flock. Now it just refers to anything herded together in a collection or assemblage.
