Assumption’s 4pm Saturday Mass
Live on Assumption Website
Our StreamSpot video streaming
service provides Assumption
Church with a great outreach to
those congregants who cannot attend parish Masses - the home
bound, those in hospitals & nursing homes, out of town family,
friends and those serving abroad.
Assumption’s 4pm Mass on Saturday is being streamed live and
archived (for viewing at a later
time, for example, at 9:00 AM or
anytime the next week) on the
Assumption Web page at
https://assumptionmthealthy.org/
live-mass-streaming.
We have had some technical difficulties live streaming Masses in the past. All of the bugs have been fixed
and we are piloting the 4pm Saturday Mass. So if you have had difficulties in the past please try it again, it
is working great.
If you still have problems please call Julie at the parish office and she can direct you to someone that can help you,
or email Ann Gruenwald at [email protected].
The National Association of Pastoral Musicians
(NPM) is a membership organization of those concerned with liturgy and music in the Catholic Church
of the United States. It is affiliated with the United
States Conference of Catholic Bishops and has Cardinals, Bishops,
clergy, religious as well as professional and volunteer musicians and
liturgists as members. The annual NPM conference will be held in
the Cincinnati Convention Center the week of July 10th, with over
2000 NPM members in attendance. The convention will open on
Monday July 10th in the afternoon with great celebration and Mass.
There is no greater thrill than praying and singing with such a large
gathering of musicians and clergy.
Cantors at the Ambo?
There have been many questions about why
our cantors, particularly at the 9 AM Mass,
have begun singing and leading the Responsorial Psalm from the ambo. The answer is
rather simple. The Psalms are scripture and
scripture should always be proclaimed from
the ambo. Because of logistic considerations
with the ambo on the other side of the sanctuary from the cantors, past music directors
and pastors have not been concerned about
this here. However, recent church documents

Vacation Bible School
Join us for Vacation Bible
School (VBS) this Summer as
we learn that we’re created by
God and built for a purpose!
Kids ages 4 to 10 are invited for
a great time during these enriching days as their imaginations
are sparked with hands-on activities, games, and scripture stories
that focus on daily themes. VBS is Monday, June 19 to
Wednesday, June 21 from 6-8 PM at St. Margaret Mary
and is FREE! Contact Adam or see Assumption’s website for more details and registration. If you would like

Family Carnival
The OLG 2nd annual Family Carnival was held on May 3rd. There
were games, face painting, food
booth, a Pizza Tower food truck,
gift baskets, mystery grab bags, tattoos, and great fun for all
that attended. Thanks to PTO and all their volunteers for having this fun evening for the students.
Field Day
The entire school participated in Field Day on May 26th. The
students had a great time participating in different activities
planned by Mr. Fleming (Physical Ed. teacher) and then enjoyed Mr. Softee ice cream at the end of the day.
Open Enrollment continues at OLG for Gr ades
K-8. If you have any questions or would like more
information about the school please call the office at
931-3070.
Living Stations
The seventh grade students did a great job presenting the Living Stations again this year. It is amazing to see the reverence
and talent these kids show in presenting this very special
event.
The annual Grades 1 –3 Special Person Day was held
on April 12th. It began with a prayer service and
presentations by each grade level. Everyone then
enjoyed classroom visits and refreshments.
Graduation
Kindergarten Special Person Day was held in May. It
also began with a Prayer Service and then the students and guests returned to the gym for refreshments and a great time playing Bingo.
The eighth grade students graduated
on May 31st. The day began with a light
breakfast, a video of the students
through the years, and a presentation
of awards and report cards. The graduation mass was held at St. Ann with a
reception in the gym right after the
ceremony. The students then attended
a social sponsored by PTO.
Everyone enjoys these special days and this year was
no exception. All had a great time.
Once again the students in
Drama Club did a wonderful job acting and singing
for “The Wizard of Oz”.
The students behind the
scenes such as the tech
crew, sound crew, etc, also
helped make this a great play. We really do have
many very talented students at OLG.
Good luck to all those graduates in their future endeavors!!
Family Picnic
OLG celebrated the last day of school with an all school mass
at 10:30. Students and guests then went
back to the classrooms for final summer
preparations and at noon went to the
field for a family picnic. All had a great
time and it is a great way to say farewell
until next year.
Thank you to Mrs. Nancy Robers, Mr. Brandan
Langjahr, Mr. Rick Berling, Mrs. Terri Lynch, and
all the volunteers who make these great drama
presentations possible.
Also, thanks to the PTO for making it possible for
the entire school to attend the dress rehearsal on
Thursday, May 11th. All that attended really enjoyed themselves.
Fine Arts Camp
Mrs. Beth Renick (art teacher) and Mr. Brandan Langjahr
(music teacher) are hosting a fine arts camp from June 5 th –
June 9th for students entering grades 1 – 6. Half of the time will
be spent in art and the other half in music. The students will
really enjoy this camp.
August 23 – First Day of School
Have a great summer!

Assumption

Society of St.
Vincent de Paul has

from 240 families
(601 people).
There were:
- 43 requests for furniture
- 31 food deliveries
- 69 requests for financial aid (utility
bills, rent, and medical assistance)
- 148 requests for clothing vouchers
Over 1666.3 pounds of in kind donations were
collected for the Mt. Healthy Alliance Food
Pantry.
During 2017, our parish provided an average of
17 volunteers a month for the pantry. 1,324
volunteer hours were logged and the volunteers
traveled approximately 910 miles.
We provided 70 people with a Community Meal
at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Transforming lives in the 45231 communities by
providing services with Christian love and dignity.
With generous support from Assumption parish and
member churches, the Mt. Healthy Alliance continues to
pursue its mission in our community. The Food Pantry
has served over 400 families each month since the beginning of the year. As always, donations and volunteers are welcome.
The Alliance will once
again participate in the
FreeStore Food Bank Hunger Walk held on May 29.
To contribute to the event
(after the event) go to
cincinnatihungerwalk.org
and select “Join a Team”
to contribute or sponsor a participant.
The conference hosted a bundle weekend in
March collecting items for the St. Vincent de
Paul Stores.
Thank you for helping to make this possible
through your poor box donations, 5th Sunday
collections, and restock weekends. It is through
your support that the Society of St. Vincent de
Paul is able to aid those in need. If you are interested in joining us in our work making home
visits or volunteering for Bundle Weekends,
Community Meals, or joining the pantry volunteers, please contact the rectory. We meet the 4th
Wednesday of each month at 7 PM in the St.
Vincent de Paul Room.
Assumption St. Vincent de Paul Conference currently has seven active members who attend
meetings, and guide the work of the conference.
We have twenty associate members who help
with special projects and pray that we are guided
to the resources necessary to help those in need.
