How to make the most of an Energy Savings Day BGE Smart Energy Rewards helps you earn credits on your summer energy bills by voluntarily reducing electricity use during designated Energy Savings Days. HERE ARE EXAMPLES OF WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SAVE ENERGY: Take advantage of the summer season and safely grill outdoors to minimize the extra heat in your home. Consider pre-cooking some weekday meals on the weekend, or after 7 pm. Minimize your use of heatproducing appliances, such as ovens, stove tops or dryers that can heat up your home. TURN UP OR OFF YOUR A/C IF YOU’RE LEAVING FOR THE DAY COMMIT TO SAVE ENERGY WITH YOUR HOUSEHOLD If no one in your household will be home Talk to your household members about during an Energy Savings Day, turn up or Energy Savings Days.
