Who’s on First?
I would like to recognize and thank all of the coaches that volunteer their time and effort to guide and
teach our kids. These people volunteer their time and without them this program would suffer greatly.
They spend countless hours away from their families so that others can benefit. So, please take the time
to thank your coaches, they deserve our gratitude and our respect.

What’s on Second?
It is that time in the baseball season when we pick All Star teams. This year, we plan on having All Star
teams in the following categories; Boys 8u, 10u, 12u and Girls 8u & 10u. This year we are not putting
these teams in the sanctioned Little League All Star Tournaments. Instead, we are looking at local
tournaments for these teams to play in. Our intent is to put our teams in a better position to be
successful and to be competitive in the tournaments that they play in. Currently we are looking at
tournaments in Garrett, Kendallville, and Kimmell.
The league will be able to pay for one tournament per team. However, if a sponsor would like to
support a team in additional tournaments please contact the league at [email protected].
I Don’t Know? Third Base!
I want to explain the All Star selection process so, that everyone understands how this works. It begins
with the Directors recommendations for coaches being submitted to the President. They are then
presented to the board of directors and approved.
All Star rosters will be set at 12 players per team. For player selection, a list of all eligible players is
compiled. All coaches from that league are given a printed list and are asked to select 15 players and
return the ballot to the League President. Any player receiving 75% (or a majority) of the votes will be
invited to be on the team. If more than 12 players receive the required votes, the Coach will have the
deciding vote as to which players are invited to be on the team. If 9 or more but less than 12 players
receive the required votes, then the coach will choose the remaining players required to complete the
12 player roster. If less than 9 players receive the required votes, the players that did not will be voted
on again until the roster requirements listed above are fulfilled. Two alternates will be chosen in case a
player declines the invitation.
