Singer Lauren Hart (right) met with children invited to be guests of the Flyers.
Philadelphia Flyers team captain Mike
Richards invited 12 children to a game as
his guests on Nov. 14 as part of a new
program launched this season called
Captain’s Corner. The guests were from
Daddy’s Spirit Moves Me For ward, a
nonprofit charity based in Paoli that provides educational and recreational expe-
riences for children who are grieving the
loss of their father.
The guests that night included seven
kids and five moms who were treated to
the game, soft drinks and snacks, an autographed picture of Richards, as well as
a visit from singer/songwriter Lauren
Hart, who sang the national anthem at
the game. Hart is the daughter of the late
Gene Hart, the voice of the Flyers. Captain’s Corner will periodically invite children’s groups or military groups.

Parkway School. This is the fifth year that
the Rotary Club has participated.
