Supplementary Regulations
AUTHORITY: The event will be conducted under the International Sporting Code of the FIA, the
National Competition Rules (NCR) of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Limited
(CAMS), the Speed Event Standing Regulations, the Victorian Hillclimb Championship
Regulations, CAMS NGK Junior Pentathlon Series Regulations, these Supplementary
Regulations and any further regulations or instructions that may be issued. The event will be
conducted under and in accordance with the CAMS OH&S and Risk Management Policies,
which can be found at www.cams.com.au

THE EVENT: The event will be a State Championship Hillclimb and ROUND 7 of the 2014
NATURES ORGANICS VICTORIAN HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP to be conducted at State
Motorcycle Sports Complex, Strathcreek Road, Broadford, Vic. on Sunday 6th July 2014, on the
Broadford road circuit.

ENTRIES: Entries will open on publishing of these regulations, and will close at close of
business on Monday 30th June 2014. Entry fee will be $115.00 (Junior entry fee for drivers
under the age of 18 on the day of the event will be $60.00) Entries received before the
close of business on Monday 16th June will be $100.00 Cheques and Money Orders should
be made payable to Phillip Island Auto Racing Club Ltd.. Payment may also be made by
Credit Card or direct deposit into the Phillip Island Auto Racing Club Ltd NAB account
BSB: 083214 ACC: 51518-1568 quoting surname of driver as reference. Entry forms must
be completed in full, accompanied by the entry fee or a copy of the direct deposit receipt, and
be lodged with the Secretary of the Event by the closing date addressed to “Event Secretary”
PIARC Hillclimb, 89 Darren Road, Keysborough Vic 3173. In the event of payment by direct
credit, or Credit Card entry forms can be emailed to: [email protected]. A
refund of the entry fees may be allowed for entries withdrawn prior to the closing date by
notifying the event secretary. Entries withdrawn after this time will not receive a refund.
INSURANCE: The Promoters have arranged Public Risk Insurance to the requirements of
Appendix I of the current CAMS Manual of Motor Sport. The Promoters reserve the right to
stipulate the number of entries for the Meeting, and select entries in excess of such number at
their absolute discretion. The maximum number of entries shall be 90, accepted in order of
receipt. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry in accordance with NCR83 of the
current CAMS Manual. Priority will be given to log booked championship eligible vehicles.
COMPETITION: Official timed runs commencing at the conclusion of any familiarisation run.
TYRE WARMING: Tyre warming is NOT PERMITTED.
PERSONS ELIGIBLE: The event shall be open to members of clubs affiliated with CAMS who
are holders of a CAMS Level 2S, 2SJ or higher Licence.
SCRUTINY: Scrutiny will commence at 7.30am and conclude at 8.45am on Sunday, 6th July
2014. All cars must be scrutineered and passed for competition prior to the commencement of
competition. CAMS Licences, Competition Records and current club membership cards must be
produced at the registration desk at Scrutiny, and on request during the meeting. All vehicles
competing in the 2014 Natures Organics Victorian Hillclimb Championship must have a
CAMS Log Book, which must be presented at Scrutiny. Entries will be accepted from
competitors/vehicles without a CAMS Log Book, but these entries will only be accepted after all
Log Booked entries have been accepted. Such competitors will not score points in the 2014
Victorian Hillclimb Championship.
DRIVERS BRIEFING: The attendance of all drivers is required at Driver’s Briefing which will be
held at 9.00am on Sunday, 6th July 2014. Drivers who fail to attend the briefing may be liable
for a penalty imposed by the Stewards.
TIMING: Timing will be electronic, and to one hundredth of a second. Event winners will be
those competitors with the fastest time for a single run in each class. In the event of a tie, the
next fastest official time of each competitor will determine the event winner. Timekeepers will
be considered Judges of Fact.
PROTESTS: Any protests must be lodged in accordance with Part XII of the NCR.
ABANDONMENT: The Promoters reserve the right to abandon, postpone or cancel the meeting
in accordance with NCR 59 of the current CAMS Manual.

SAFETY – DRIVER: Drivers must wear a helmet to a standard listed in Schedule D in the
current CAMS Manual of Motor Sport, and be deemed by the scrutineers of the event to be in a
suitable condition for motorsport use, non flammable clothing, suitable footwear, and goggles or
visors with lens other than glass in open cars (see General Requirements of Schedule D of the
current CAMS Manual).
SAFETY – CARS: The attention of competitors is drawn to General Requirements of the CAMS
Manual of Motor Sport in which all vehicle requirements are listed in detail (vehicles must
comply with Schedules A & B of the current CAMS Manual). Vehicles must not exceed a noise
limit of 95dB(A). Vehicles must be fitted with a fire extinguisher complying with General
Requirements of Schedule H of the current CAMS Manual. Competitors are reminded that the
possession and use of Halon/BCF fire extinguishers, other than where specific approval has
been given by the E.P.A., is prohibited. Fuel must be in accordance with Schedule G of the
current CAMS Manual.
COMPETITION NUMBERS: Competition numbers which have been registered for the 2014
Natures Organics Victorian Hill Climb Championship will not be available for use by other
competitors, not withstanding that the owner of the number may not be competing in the event.
Competition Numbers must be displayed on both sides of the vehicle and be clearly
visible from 30 metres.
ANTI DOPING POLICY: During any event, consumption of alcoholic beverages in the paddock,
pits or any other portion of the competition venue under the control of the officials is expressly
forbidden until all practice or competition activity is concluded for each day. Any driver or crew
member who is found to be affected by alcohol on the day of the event or practice therefore
shall not be permitted to participate. Refer NCR 145A of the Current CAMS Manual. In addition,
the persons concerned will be subject to the Articles of the Standard Operating Procedure for
Alcohol Testing and CAMS Anti-Doping Policy. Competitors, crews or officials may be randomly
tested for alcohol by a CAMS Accredited Testing Official (CATO) or other drugs at any time
during the event(s). The CAMS Anti Doping Policy, as appears in the CAMS Manual of Motor
Sport and as amended from time to time, is recognised as an integral component of the NCR
and is duly authorised as such. In any areas where the National Competition Rules and the
CAMS Anti Doping Policy conflict, the CAMS Anti Doping Policy will apply.
AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded to the person achieving fastest time of day, and to the
fastest and second fastest time in each class. Further awards may be made, and these will be
notified to competitors in any further information that may be forwarded to competitors and/or at
the Drivers Briefing.
TRACK CONFIGURATION: This event will be conducted in an anti-clockwise direction on a
section road race circuit. The event will be conducted over a distance of approximately 1350
metres.
USE OF THE TRACK FOR PRACTICE: The track will NOT BE available for practice prior to
competition.
COMPETING CARS: Competing cars must be kept in the paddock area during the running of
the meeting. Competitors’ trailers must be parked in the designated areas at the direction of Pit
Marshalls.

Classes may, at the Promoters discretion, be combined where there are less than three entries
in a class. Where there are sufficient entries, further classes may be created. Competitors in
Historic – Other must provide a Certificate of Description for their vehicle.
ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES: Notification of the acceptance of entry will be forwarded to all
competitors via Email only. The notice of acceptance will include any additional information
necessary for competitors.
RESULTS: Results will be available on the internet (http://www.hillclimbvic.com.au) in the week
following the event, can be emailed to you, or posted by conventional mail. Please indicate on
the entry form the manner in which you would like to receive the results.
