$80,322 - $90,028 + 15.4% superannuation (stated salary is for full
time hours of 37.5 per week and will apply on a pro-rata basis for
part-time hours)

The successful applicant must have, or be willing to undergo a security
clearance to the level of Baseline Vetting as a condition of employment.
To satisfy character requirements all AFSA employees must undergo a police
records check before commencing their employment with AFSA.
Where a person has received a redundancy benefit from APS agency
employment and their corresponding redundancy benefit period has not
expired, they may be ineligible for employment.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) is responsible for managing the application of
bankruptcy and personal property securities laws through the delivery of high quality personal
insolvency and trustee, regulation and enforcement, and personal property securities services.
The Workforce Development team in the Finance, People and Capability division is responsible for
supporting AFSA’s delivery of its People Strategy 2020 and other strategic objectives through
mature workforce analytics and planning to support evidence-based workforce decision making;
and learning and development and talent management programs to ensure the Agency’s capability
is strategically managed.
The Senior Advisor Workforce Planning will coordinate and deliver a range of activities to enable
workforce planning and best practice in people analytics, engaging with stakeholders at all levels
and across business units to influence and enact change. The Senior Advisor Workforce Planning
will also contribute expertise to the overall reduction of workforce risks at AFSA, supporting the
achievement of the AFSA’s strategic goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES

Provide high level support for workforce planning activities including, but not limited to:
divisional workforce planning, succession planning and strategic workforce planning.

Contribute to the review and implementation of workforce planning frameworks, processes
and strategies that mature and unify AFSA’s approach to workforce management. This
includes undertaking data analysis and participating in scenario planning and the
development/ review of workforce plans using available technology.

Engage and consult with stakeholders - primarily leadership and management teams, to
build AFSA’s workforce planning capability through increased analytical, evidence-based
decision making and strategic planning capability, as well as providing day to day support
and advice on the implementation of relevant workforce plans to designated stakeholder
groups

Undertake analysis of workforce data to monitor progress against strategic workforce
objectives as defined in relevant workforce plans, and provide regular reports to leadership
teams to inform decision making.

Conduct research and analysis of relevant internal and external data and synthesise and
communicate the findings through a range of channels including presentations, written and
online reports, executive briefs and internal communication tools.

Establish and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders on project activities and
actively manage stakeholder expectations and agreed objectives.


development initiatives, as applicable.

Keep abreast of leading practice in strategic workforce planning and contribute to process
improvements within the wider HR team.

Learn from and share knowledge with the APS HR community through participation in
relevant networks, forums and communities of practice, contributing to better workforce
management practices across the APS.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications in business, management or HR management would be advantageous, but not
essential.
Relevant HR management, workforce or business planning experience.
Experience analysing data to provide insight for decision making.
The role involves regular interstate travel.
