Present: Warren Franke (chair), Steve Mahoney, Bill Bergan, Rose Martin, Bobby LeBlanc, Roman Lynch
Absent: Jerry Peltier, Mary Budd, John Stafford
1. Warren led us in a stewardship prayer from the archdiocese of Chicago
2. Soiree post-mortem
x some of the jokes were too edgy or not “church” humor
- college students became loud at end of party – but that is college students
+ food was good and we had plenty
+ set up and clean up was easy
+ went well – people had a good time
+ comedy was fun and a nice change of pace for parish gatherings
+ good number of students
- a number came who didn’t “RSVP” and some who did “RSVP” didn’t show up
x should look at size of bun
- still should try for a “structure party” – atmosphere is unique
- summer? mid-June?
x not many families or children present
+ should continue a parish event
- number about 140 present
3. Vision Matrix
• Our suggestion that the objective “Equipping of Evangelists” be moved to the goal of EVANGELIZATION OF
CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY – makes more sense to us
• Under the goal of DEEPENING PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST a new objective be added:
Growth in Stewardship. We propose 3 action steps for this objective:
1. Promote the DOG training,
2. Promote parish ownership and community involvement,
3. Increase the financial support of the parish mission.
• We should volunteer to send someone to the Vision Committee/Pastoral Council to explain our reasoning if
necessary.
4. ICSC Stewardship Parish Application
• We should use this form for a team discussion in the future – take time to rate each question and discuss our
thoughts.
5. Stewardship Highlight Brochure
• We agreed to produce this brochure for distribution to parishioners in the fall
• Highlights time, talent and finances for the fiscal year
• Bobby to contact members in July to see who is willing and available to work on this – probably a mid-day to
early afternoon meeting after July 1.
6. Stewardship Reflections for the bulletin: due before 5:00pm on these Tuesdays
