Clock Stoppage Rules
1-Time outs, clock starts at snap of football.
2-Incomplete Pass, clock starts at snap.
3- Runner goes out of Bounds, clock starts at snap. 4-After a
Touchdown-clock is stopped on extra point attempt (clock doesn’t
start until kick off)
5-Re-set chains for a first down, clock starts as soon as ref spots ball.
6-Penalty-clock stops only if the refs signal stop. 7-Change of
Possession- clock starts at signal from referee.
8- At any point in the game, should the difference of scores reach 21
points, the “running clock rule” shall come into effect and remain in
effect until the score difference is less than 21 points. When this rule is
in effect the clock shall run continually during the quarter except:
(1) During charged or officials’ time-outs, or
(2) All scoring plays by either team-in this case the clock shall stop
after the score and restart on the official’s ready whistle.
