The conduct of parents and fans, especially at matches, needs to be one of support. The best response to enable players to achieve the success they want is to have the positive support of their fans, even when they may feel their team has been wronged in some way. Opposing players, coaches, and the referees should not be the focus of comments during games. Likewise, negative comments and ‘coaching’ from the stands only distracts and confuses our own players. Also, entering the field of play by a parent/fan without being directed to do so by an official or coach is a very risky, and possibly liable situation, even when the motivation is concern for one’s own child. We ask that parents/fans only enter the field of play if directed to do so by a coach or official. The playing time of any player will not be discussed directly following a game or practice. Parents may contact the coaches the following day to set up a meeting time. Other players will not be discussed in this meeting. In a player, parent, coach meeting the proper school administration will be present if necessary. If a problem or issue arises that does not involve playing time feel free to discuss it with the coaching staff at any time. Issues or complaints should be brought to the coaching staff only. If players are signing out, they can ONLY BE SIGNED OUT BY THEIR PARENT OR GUARDIAN. This is school policy and will not be able to be adjusted by the coach – please do not ask the coach to break this district policy. The Corbin Soccer Program asks that parents please be prompt in pick up and drop off to and from games and practices. As a parent of a Corbin High School girl’s soccer player, I will: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Be encouraging and supportive of my child’s play. Respect officials Support the coach Comply with the team rules as they apply to me Only discuss issues concerning my player with the coach, at a time agreed upon by the coach, and not immediately after, during, or prior to a game. As a parent of a Corbin High School girl’s soccer player, I will never: 1. Engage in any type of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, fan, or parent 2. Use tobacco or alcohol while near the field of play 3. Act in any manner considered detrimental to the team I, ________________________________, hereby agree to the above standards of behavior. I further acknowledge receipt of the Parent Expectations document and agree to uphold the expectations. I understand if I do not follow the standards of behavior, I may be subject to dismissal from games. __________________________________________ Parent Signature ________________________ Date
