drug.
Street name’s are: Date rape drug, Roofies, La
Roche, Roach, R2, Club drug and the “forget
pill”





Produced by Hoffman La Roche
It was used as a high sedative in hospitals for
medical use in the 1970s.
In 1975 it was released in the market of
Europe and sold in other nations in the
1980s.
It is not approved in the U.S
Schedule rating of this drug is Schedule IV



It’s a powerful sedative that depresses the
central nervous system.
Result can range from mild sedation to the
death.
10 times stronger than valium.

It’s dissolved in drinks

Swallowed as a pill

Snorted

Frequently used in combination with alcohol
and drugs.


A small white pill.
It has no taste or odor when dissolved in a
drink.








Reduced blood pressure
Dizziness
Confusion
Loss of consciousness
Sleepy
Blackouts
Nausea
The effects of this drug can last from 2-8
hours.



Users may develop physical and psychological
dependence on the drug.
Some people addicted may experience
seizures.
Also they might experience muscle pain,
extreme anxiety, hallucinations and
headaches

