Pinto Summer House League 2016 Objectives & Logistics The objective of the Pinto Summer House League is to help young players further develop their baseball skills while at the same time increasing their understanding of the rules of the game. To insure all participants have a positive experience, trained IBA coaches will oversee a half-hour practice for each team prior to games where players will have an opportunity to showcase what they are learning. All teams will play 8 games (two weeknights per week for four weeks). Dates: Days: Time: Location: Cost: Starts June 20th ... Ends July 21st (No sessions during the July 4th week) Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday 5:30pm - 7:00pm Thornwood North $230 (includes a jersey and hat) We will use the Buddy System to create teams. If you would like to play with a buddy, a parent may submit a list of one to six buddies via email to Jim Ferguson at [email protected] listing the players first and last name, grade, and school. Parents interested in coaching should list one or two coaches along with the players when registering. Provide Buddy requests ONLY if you've confirmed it with your Buddy, so names don't appear on more than one list. We will attempt to honor all buddy requests. If requesting 5 or 6 buddies, there must be an adult agreeing to coach as part of the request. There will be two-to-three coaches per team. Please indicate coaching interest when registering. Instruction The goal of this program is help players improve their skill levels and learn the game of baseball in a friendly, enjoyable environment. Prior to each game, there will be a 30-minute instructional session focused on hitting, throwing, fielding, and pitching skill development with three professional instructors from Illinois Baseball Academy. The game that follows will combine both player and coach pitch to stimulate action in the field, so players can practice their skills. Teams will have parent coaches who will take over running the team for the game. During the game, the instructors will continue to participate by working with pitchers on the sidelines and defensive players in the field. Finally, the IBA instructors will also look to provide meaningful and tailored instruction to players of all skill levels. Registration The 2016 Pinto Summer House League is an instructional league for Pinto League players (spring grade 2nd or 3rd) who played in the Pinto House League this spring.
